thanks god no LED stripes. Seems as BMW got it right with their "Angels Eyes" in terms of visibilety and identity.
I think this car will look fantastaic, now I only wish a more radical M5, with a powerdome, wider wheel arches and all the other goodies M3 is usually getting.
I think i like more the E60 headlights... need to see the F10 in real... i was expecting a diferent shape (looks too much smooth...).
I hope the M5 F10 will have a more agressive look then the M5 E60... (not that the M5 e60 isn`t agressive enough, but on the F10 i don`t know... need to see the basic model in real...)
is it the Real Thing?

This photoshop shows how approximately car will look, but details are wrong... for example lights and kidneys got softer lines, this can be seen on spy photos too. According to people who have seen a car, new 5er looks much better than this photoshop...

Following several spy sightings, BMW has released a teaser video of its forthcoming 2011 5-Series Sedan. Although the actual 5-Series doesn’t appear in the teaser video, the short clip does show the 5er’s “sporting and elegant design” via a kinetic sculpture from the BMW Museum.
Sources in Europe claim this BMW will move away from the polarizing design of the current model. Already under development with the internal codename “F10,” the next-generation BMW 5-Series will soften the harder lines of the current E60 with more conventional-looking headlights and a cleaner front-end design. New European pedestrian safety standards are expected to drastically alter the design of many European cars for the worse, but BMW will not only maintain its classic twin-kidney grille design, it will reduce the length of the front overhang.
As is typical of most recent BMW redesigns, this 5-Series will add some space between the wheels by extending the wheelbase nearly 10 centimeters and widening the track. The overall length will grow by less than 2 centimeters, while its height will be reduced slightly and its width increased by a fraction. A set of 17-inch wheels will be the smallest available with 18- and 19-inch wheels optional.
Under the hood, this 5-Series is expected to use variations of existing engines in BMW’s line-up. Base power will likely come from a 2.5-liter straight-6, while top-of-the-range models will use the current 4.8-liter V8. A wild card could be thrown into the mix if BMW attempts to combine its latest turbo technology with a V8 of slightly smaller displacement. Also in the works is a more powerful version of the M5’s 5.0-liter V10.
The next-generation 5-Series is expected to feature an eight-speed automatic transmission with an all-wheel drive option being available. The new 5 will also have Park Distance Control and an around view monitor system, similar to Infiniti’s Around View Monitor.
Expect a series of teaser videos leading up to the 5-Series’ world debut on November 23rd.

It will go on sale there in second half of 2010. They call it 2011 in America because that way Americans feel like thy are buying something even more brand new. Marketing scam for making things look look better when selling used...
They started that trend with magazines. Remember the times when you actually had to wait for the beginning of the month to buy the issue for the next month. Now for some magasines you can buy a July edition in the middle of June...

Yeah, a friend of mine is in the development team. He said, the new 5 series is the best looking BMW with a lot of nice technology.
Hope he has right!
