what does it say? It looks like it's a cabriolet with a hard top canopy cut to look like the old targa. That's really interesting imo if that's the case anyone with a Cabriolet could buy this top, yes?

Greg, it says the following:
Ein neues Hardtop soll dem Porsche 911 Cabrio eine klassische Targa-Optik verleihen. Die Firma GTN Automotive in Ostfildern hat dafür einen Umbausatz entwickelt.
GTN verwandelt das 997 Cabrio in einen Targa mit klassischem Look.
Die Dachhälften können herausgenommen werden.
Das Hardtop kostet ab 11.000 Euro.
My (non-native German speaker's) translation:
A new hardtop gives the 911 cab a classical targa-look.
The firm GTN Automotive in Ostfildern developed a conversion kit for this purpose.
GTN transforms the 997 cab in a targa with classical looks.
The two halves of the roof can be taken off.
Prices start at €11000,-
So how I understand it, the existing cloth roof is still in place (folded away).
Then the conversion kit is built on top of that, and gives the car the looks of a '70s targa,
but also the functionality of the old targa, because the CGT-like roof can be taken out in two pieces. I don't know though whether any irreversable changes need to be made...

Yes, it is basically an alternative to the OEM hardtop, mounted the same way but obviously with the freedom of removing the middle segments.

That is so cool ! My first 911 was an '87 Targa . This should be the std optional hardtop for cabs - the regular one has always looked like an ill-fitting helmet , with that massive sloping B-pillar. Even better if the lift off panels are tinted Plexiglass with removable sunscreens , so you get the effect of an interior brightening " moonroof " when closed up.
PS, this is their website:

If you look at the development pictures, you can see that it seems to be well-designed and well thought through.
I think it's an awesome idea. Would love to see how it looks on a Turbo Cab. Looks like they did it right development, R&D wise too. And the targa top portions can fit inside the front bonnet so there's a major plus over the OEM hardtop.
Appears to be much, much more than the OEM top, materials, etc but it expensive & on top of that the dollar is in the toilet What's happened transcends everything!
Prices START @ $16k USD
Thanks for the translation Joost.
