This is shocking !!!!
A few years back SUVs where being sometimes scratched with keys over here. There was even a political group who tried to have them baned in the country. They failed and the scratching has now stopped.
All that was coming from some ' extremists' , otherwise most of the population doesn't show any aggressive signs towards Cayenne, on the opposite, people seem actually to like them...and we have so many on our roads that they are becoming the new golf

I almost can't believe that this went that far in Germany, so I guess in those times is better to be a little less noticeable with expensieve cars and things like that... I didn't experienced any attack on me, I also got friends who drives much more noticeable cars than I do and non of them experienced anything like you wrote... I recieved a few scratches with a keys on a car, but that was happening always. I hope things will get better where you live and for sure X5 M doesn't attract people as much as Cayenne do, despite its at least that good if not a better.

can you make that beginning of november...or maybe actually after tomorrow...
she found a huge "ARSCH" (ass) writing on the front hood, apparently written with ice cream. Luckily, the car was OK, no scratches.
it is beyond me why germans exhibit such aggressive forms of envy.....
My theory is that you find this kind of strange behavior in certain areas of Germany more than in others... For example you are very unlikely to encounter things like RC described in our part of Germany. And frankly I am very grateful for this.
And not in our part of Germany!
Wow, I also find this shocking. Is it the fuel usage or the price tag that elicits this response?
So strange that the country that is known for producing most of the fast, luxurious autos would have such reactions. I would think most germans should have great pride in Merc, Audi, BMW, and Porsche names. Those companies are responsible for a lot of wealth creation in Germany.
Must be the area - former east block true believers?
Not wanting to sound insensitive or anything (hope your wife and kids are over it dear RC) but it was not so big of a deal. About a month ago, some burglars tried to get into my house. The alarm was off but luckily, a member of the family was awake (at 3 AM) and heard the noise. Took my M1911A1 .45 pistol and went after them but they got away... oh well, next time... LOL!!! We should not let things like that get to us. Cheers!

FERRARI RULES!!!
Given fuel prices in Germany, I'm not surprised that people show outrage - even if it is inappropriate.
IMO wagon editions of E63AMG/M5/RS6 would be a much better choice, providing equal amounts of space for the kids. Much sportier, faster, lower attention factor and better fuel mileage.
If you must have an SUV, wouldn't an ML63AMG provide much better visceral satisfaction (sounds better, has instant throttle response) - even though it probably is a bit slower?
Happy shopping

Just curious Christian, do you live in a country town or a smaller city? I just can't imagine that this would be a big city mentality!
It really seems to depend from city to city. According to a friend, the situation in Hamburg is even worse than in my town. My town is small, around 300000 people and it is a typical "worker" society with large factories.
The interesting part is: actual "workers", "simple" people, seem to love the Cayenne. It is different (worse) with people of the lower middle class or even intellectuals, very strange.
I don't get it, really. Usually my wife and the kids are affected most because they use the Cayenne all the time. Two weeks ago, somebody wrote "ARSCH" (ass) on the front of the Cayenne with big letters, written with ice cream. The car was completely legally parked (no handicapped parking, no "stupid" parking, so somebody could feel offended). It was a parking lot at a large local skating arena.
Have I told you about the various key scratches on the Cayenne?!
I work hard for my money, so does my wife. Nobody has a right to do this to our property, for no reason.
