Re: Cayenne
I know this is personal taste and rather picky but I'm not a fan of the chrome on the center console in the Panamera as it reminds me of a rather naff looking Nokia mobile phone. I hope it's not in the new 911.

Ed,
I think boh the buttons and the paddles will be obtainable from now on. Additionally, I think it's not unusuable to put temporary components on a mule. Especially if they don't want to give away the new steering wheel design ;-)
..and on that pic it looks like the shifter is a manual anyway.... so there would be a new option : 6 speed manual and PDK in the same car

I think you are right Joost.... but if they continue to the future generations with this steering wheel buttons that it will be the end for me with Porsche! ... At least this is what I think today...

Am I the only one who thinks this these photos are merely of the 997.2 in testing..
were are in 2008, it would be a little too soon to start to see pics of the 2011 generation 911, perhaps in one years time.... which would then still leave two years further before launch
No. I'm with you. Not sure how hard we're supposed to squint our eyes to see whatever differences are supposed to be incorporated into this next best 911 but it sure looks like the last next best best 991 to me. I strongly doubt that pics would be out only 2 years into the life of the 997.2 and be readily available. No reason for Porsche to be changing anything with regards to the 997.2 just yet outside of cosmetic or needed mechanical improvements to the current design. Really hard to take this " latest scoop" seriously actually.
