Hahaha I remember when the first one was released everybody was saying how terrible the design was and it looked like a piece of melted plastic, now everybody considers it a great design.
I liked it at first sight, then!

Palenimbus has a point in general, but I have been clear since the beginning that I always called it one of my favorites. It was sleek!
This new one is different and a lot of new S class look with the wheel wells and a trend that all mercedes have been following, long and narrow. I don't like the long narrow look so much. Late 90's big merc's looked more substantial with the width they had.
I will wait till I see one of these in person and in Black. Black is the CLS color!

Me too - I loved the old one the first second!
Hmm, that black car looks awfully like my own car, that driveway looks quite like mine.
Duh, it IS my car lol. Thanks racerx, I have actually lost that photo due to a Windows crash.
I have been quietly waiting for more news from MB for the new CLS. In my mind it's the only alternative to the Panamera, the price maybe be quite different but it's secondary to the catagory, Panamera and the CLS are the only 4-door performance coupe on the market, both are in my crosshair. Despite what Porsche claims, I have no interest cross-shopping the Panamera with the new 7 or the S-class or the Maserati.
My dealer has been asking me to go for a test drive of the Panamera, and I have been delaying it to wait for more news of the new CLS. Just like the 1st gen, I quite like the front but still trying to warm up to the rear styling.

For real?
That's cool. I would have found it probably at a merc forum and a couple years ago.

Kid you not. I posted that pic with a few others to the mbworld when I first got the car. First year of the CLS with the 55K engine, in my mind a better engine than the 63 in my ML63.

The rear has too much E. and the Es rear has too much Hyundai, epic fail.
To me the E class has stepped up its game to go from a regular functional sedan to a more upscale styled car. I think its very nice.
As a whole i agree that the new model is much better than the pior E, but the rear lights are not that good.

Hi Whoopsy, I dont think that you can compare a Panamera with a CLS. The way it feels and drives are completely different. The CLS will have this typical MB feeling, which is totally controversial to the Porsche feeling.

Still got it?
How was the quality, warranty repairs, maintenance............
Just returned it this past summer. Car was perfect, nothing broke, everything worked perfectly, and apart from gas, all it cost me was 3 oil changes from the dealer.
I have been pretty lucky with cars over the years, none has ever suffer quality issues, well apart from a Lexus RX330 which was absolutely the worse car I have ever bought and own, but that's another story by itself.
