indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Carlos from Spain:
looks a bit feminine to me
The white one is still camouflaged pretty well, wait for the "end" product.
One of the goals for the designers though was to make the Cayenne look smaller, sportier and less "bulky".
There is no surprise here, the next Cayenne generation is only an evolution, not a revolution but especially the interior will profit, it is close to the Panamera.
No surprises with engines too, V8 should be slightly below or equal to 400 HP.
Turbo should get 540-560 HP, Turbo S is rumored to hit 600 if things go well.
There still seems to be some sort of discussion if the Turbo should get 530 HP only, to allow an upgrade to the Turbo S of 50 HP but I'm not up-to-date with the results of this discussion.
I'm also afraid that there won't be any major change in the weight department, cost...cost...cost.

I don't know what the facelift will look like, but I do want to put in a positive vote for the Cayenne design. I admire my Turbo S every day, and know of no other SUV that is designed nearly as well. Like many other Porsches, the camera angle can distort the lines of the car. Every other SUV design looks like a thinly disguised truck, or a bunch of ill fitting panels on a boxy frame.
I have owned 16 Porsches since 1965, and honestly I can always remember criticisms. The 356 looks like a "bathtub", the 911 looks like a "frog", etc. I like the Cayenne, period.
A great car...

What do you expect? The new Panamera sets the design basis for the Cayenne too. They can't just use a completely different design for the Cayenne.
I'm also afraid that the current Boxster/Cayman design, especially regarding the front part, will be an indication of the future 991 design.

That's a promising design, especially the side intakes
