Tribute to Bernd Rosemeyer

A little tribute to the man who was the motorsport idol of my grandparents. Happy Birthday on your 100th, Bernd Rosemeyer Smiley I hope there is a Nordschleife in heaven Smiley

First man who lapped NoS in less than 10 minutes Smiley

First man to drive > 400 km/h on a public road (not on a salt lake Smiley )

There are a lot of fascinating and also funny stories around Bernd Rosemeyer - for example after the races he expected his mechanic to offer him an already lit cigarette right after he climbed out of the racecar Smiley

Great and thoughtful tribute!

I have dozens of things at home from my grand ma. She was a big fan of him and was frequently at the race track. I even have an original Signature of him!

A fitting tribute to a great man and superb racer..

He sure packed a lot into his 28 years on this planet.

Ironically his wife Elly actually lived to the age of 100...
