    2009 Brazilian F1 Grand Prix in Sao Paulo

    The penultimate race of the 2009 F1 calendar is due to take place in Sao Paulo this weekend.

    It's a 3 horse race for the Drivers' Championship. I still think that Button is strong favourite to win the title - the lead he built up in the first half of the season is still significant. My prediction is that, if the Brawn cars are competitive, Button may be happy to let Barrichello win provided that he (Jenson) can still get useful points. So if Rubens gets 10 points and Jenson gets 6 points (for example), Jenson won't mind too much.

    I wonder how quick McLaren and Red Bull will be on this circuit? Smiley

    Should be an interesting race Smiley

    Looking forward to this one...

    Interlagos is one of my favourite circuits... the downhill left first turn followed by a sharp right has produced spectacular overtaking over the years as well as thrills and spills...

    Rubens will be all out to win his first 'home' Grand Prix and further his chances of securing a top drive for next season...

    Barrichello has traditionally done well on this circuit, and the Brawns will be strong.  I think Button & definitely BrawnGP will be able to tie it all up this weekend.  Sad for me since I will be going for the Abu Dhabi GP, and would love the title to be decided there, so hope I'm wrong!!

    incredible to believe....he has 1 title as Nigel Mansell...this year was too much important the car and he built the advantage in the first races

    What a dramatic race - so many accidents & DNFs!

    Well done Jenson Button - 2009 F1 World Champion!!!!

    I'm very happy that a British driver has won!

    For years, he couldn't win a race until his maiden win in Hungary. And then this year, the Brawn-Mercedes car was so fast right out of the box. Jenson capitalised in the first half of the season whereas Rubens struggled.

    And then since June, Jenson has struggled. But today, he drove like a champion, overtaking bravely making no mistakes.

    Unfortunately, it wasn't to be for Rubens. I don't think he will ever become F1 World Champion.

    I also think Jenson will not repeat this achievement - Brawn had the fastest car in the 1st half of 2009. I don't think this will happen again. So Jenson should enjoy his title while he has it.

    The rumour is that Rubens is going to Williams where it is unlikely he will challenge for the title...

    Well done to Brawn F1 for winning the Constructors' Title! Honda must be kicking themselves right now.

    Red Bull had a fantastic season especially the second half. McLaren and Ferrari both improved towards the end of the season.

    Today, I thought Webber, Vettel, Kubica drove very, very well.

    I was also impressed with young Kobayashi. Yes, he weaved around a bit to block those trying to get past him but he is IMO good enough for F1. I hope we see more of him. In qualification, I saw him correct a tricky oversteer in the wet at high speed - very impressive driving by a youngster.

    Next year, I expect a very tough fight between Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull.

    It was a good gesture on Ross Brawn's part to thank and congratulate those members of the team for their contribution to the championships whom he had had to make redundant early this year after taking over the team from Honda. Smiley

    I agree - Ross showed how classy he is during his interview. It's also the only time I have ever seen him so emotional. Usually, he is so calm and never gets overexcited.

    Button showed that he is a worthy champion, he really did risk a lot where he could have played safe.

    Vettel was very good too though, I think Vettel outperformed Button on the last few races, but not nearly enough to win against Buttons phenomenal start of the season.

    This season was historic, a new team starts with 6 wins in a row, wins drivers and constructors title. That'll be a record for a very long time!

    I remember our discussions about Brawn GP from beginning of the season, I guess no one would have thought they can make it!

    I was also really impressed with how in the slower car he was able to keep Button behind him, and didn't succumb to the imense pressure of having the potential world champion behind him. 

    But now unfortunately for me, the Abu Dhabi GP will only be academic!  Now I might as well enjoy the added attractions!

    Quite a thrilling race... who said that F1 has become boring?

    Feeling very happy for Button, after all that odd performance in the 2nd half of the season, he finally won the title with brave manouvres and adequate speed. Sad to see Barrichello´s result but, after all, it makes the battle for runner-up even more exciting.

    Very curious how the driver lineup for next year turns out to be...
