If I was looking for a $100k sports car no doubt that car would be on a short list. Thanks Tom & Porschelover for the vids.
It was nice to the the Vette, Porsche & Ferrari leave Godzilla in the dust.

The MT video on a track is great. The street racing video is simply nuts. I don't want to be near those guys on a public road. One can drive fast and spiritedly on public roads, but racing never.

seen it ^^ a while ago, that twat of a driver bogged down on the start. Either lousy driver or bias against the vette. But not an accurate representation.
perhaps you missed the thread in "other sports cars" but the stock vette does 10.85, it does it right in front of your eyes, a customer car that gets driven. I find 11.2 for the GT2.
or 10.73 with even more grip
I have 1.10 G's for the vette on the skidpad and the same for the GT2.
I have 60-0 braking of 97 ft. for the ZR-1 and 98 ft. for the GT2.
We all know the vettes NBR time of 7:25 and walters 7:32 in the GT2.
and I found this;
Sport Auto - Hockenheim Short
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 1:09.7
Porsche 997 GT2 1:09.7
Porsche 997 GT3 (facelift) 1:10.4
Nissan GT-R 1:10.7
Now I do not own a Corvette and was never a fan before the ZR-1 because I did not like the looks. It now looks good from the outside. But the interior is still lousy.
See I call them as I see them. The ZR-1 is simply the most impressive production car available if you go by NUMBERS and the VALUE is impressive vs. its competition. Its a fact that you can't get around.
You don't have to like the car, but you do have to deal with the facts. It also has a nice HUD display.
You can like either car, or both, or neither. But at least be aware of the actual best times that each car has achieved w/o sandbagging or excuses.
That is the best way to look at things. Both very impressive.
Think it shows how much of a difference the driver makes.
Also in the AutoCarUK vid the guy makes a comment about traction not just from the start but from every gear, that could make all the difference. I can't see how a GT2 would pull from a ZR1 with equivalent drivers & traction.

great comment!
thats exaclty my opinion.. i do not own a VETTE too and i really love porches, but the thing is the ZR1 is very very very FAST! YES it beats the GT2 from straight acceleration and with a very nice price, THIS IS A FACT!
402m in 10.8sec its very IMPRESSIVE for a stock ONE, with 132mph! this thing is fast.
the gt2 with chip & exhaust the history can be different!
Unlike Racerx, I quite like the looks of the Corvette, since the very beginning! But I always had a problem with its outdated engine technology, and insistence on continuing that trend i.e. bigger and bigger engines to make the car go faster in a straight line. (there's no replacement for displacement and all that jazz).
However, with the C6 models and later, it started handling better as well as getting seriously quick, and my objective reasons for not having it on my shopping list are gone! In fact, before I plumped for my current 997, I was seriously considering a ZR-1, but was thwarted by the dealer, who had no examples as a test car. His excuse was that too many over-enthusiastic drivers were wrecking the test cars (to which my immediate response was, "that's what insurance is for!!")
Oh, well, I have no regrets over my purchase!
