Back in July, the head of BMW's M Division, Dr. Kay Segler, hinted on a production version of the current M3 GT4.
Therefore, this could be the first prototypes of that vehicle.
The M3 GT4 contested this year's 24 Hour Nurburgring endurance race through BMW's Customer Racing program, and the M Division was previously considering the car for limited production so that more entry-level race teams could use it for competition.

Enmanuel:
that's great news, but the wing is a no no.
I think they are just testing downforce; I don't think BMW would ever put that kind of a spoiler on a road legal car.
But, again who knows

Aren't you guys happy we have Shakal?
YEssss, and I expect more info from him
, thanx
Rumours are this is a little more hardcore version of M3 - lower weight, added KERS . This could be GT4 street version or GT version - something similar to Competition package for the E46 M3...
Porker: This is defenetly a BMW test car. The car came from and returned to the BMW testing paddocks, it also has a sticker on the left rear side window which allowing them to drive when the Nordschleife is open for a public too.

What benefits can you get from KERS
Less weight with suspension tweaks and a little more power means E92 CSL; it doesn't matter what it is called.
The car has some sort of different intake, it sounds like CSL.
We'll see in near future I hope.

KERS is kinetic energy recovery system. That means when braking, KERS converts some of its kinetic energy into a storeable form of energy. When energy is stored, it can be used with pressing a button (in F1), which means extra power for sime time (until batteries are empty)...
I heard that BMW tested KERS in F10 M5, maybe this same unit is now being tested in M3... Still, a friend who works in BMW said there will be no CSL. But he didn't comment on GT4 or GT. Ofcourse he is not allowed to spread secret informations...
Shakal, do you have any info about a new version for E92? introduction in the next 15-20 days...
Rumors says a new fab model is coming...
I don't know if it's gt4 version or a new clamorous one...
