I had 3 steps on my own CSL project.
They were all about saving more weight.
So I went with the 18" BBS RC wheels which are one of the lightest street wheels that had been produced by BBS:

Then I put Supersprint Race Lightweight exhaust on the car. It was half the weight of the stock unit; 12 kg vs. 24 kg.
Then, I bought Recaro PP seats in leather/alcantara trim with alum. lightweight brackets.

That is an awesome machine! I bet the handling is incredible.
Trip,
Especially with the chassie modifications (Motorsport X-brace, strut brace, sway bars and konis) the handling of the car was improved significantly.
But the design of the car was old, and it wasn't top quality.
I cracked rear subframe because of too much oversteer. Also rear suspansion bushings were another weak area.
It was behind the E46 M3, especially on high speed long turns. E46 was more sure footed and solid. The wider track and stiffer and modern chassie improved the handling dramatically.

wow pride355, the E36 M3 is one of my all time favorites! Looks awesome
Thank you
My E36 M3 EVO was special, and a strong one. It was faster than all of the other E36 M3s I had raced.
A very good example and my biggest toy. It was more special at those times and I was only 19 which made everything more special about the car

On my own CSL project, I had saved around 65-70 kg of the car.
Recaro PP seats saved approx. 40-45 kg
Supersprint Race LTW cat-back system saved 12 kg
BBS RC wheels over OEM 18" saved approx. 10 kg.
I had superchips stage 1 software on the car. It gave 12-15 hp, raised the rev limiter to 8200 rpm and removed the speed limiter.
So while the power went up to around 355 hp, the weight of the car decreased to around 1440 kg.

Great shots ! of all the cars funny just today i saw a dark gray M3 E46 on the streets an thought how great it looked, then i come home to find this thread opened.
Maybe you should wish for something else Enmanuel
I do still like the design of E46 M3, today. Especially E46 M3 CSL looks so musculin and handsome with its spoiler integrated boot, 19" BBS RC derivative wheels, flare arches, carbon roof, and ready to attack nose. I really love the CSL and it is my all time favorite ///M car. I'm very sad to miss the opputunaty to buy one when it was released.

That must have been great fun to drive!
It was fun to drive. I always love to drive front engine rear wheel drive car.
But I sold my 2nd E46 M3 the day after I put in the Recaro PP buckets as I had a customer for the car with a good price.

Trust me I've had the M3 torture going on for a while, i live in a house practically in the heart of the city and the V-Cool showroom just moved right behind my house. everyday i have to go past the huge glass windows that have had 3 different E92s in the last 5 weeks. the first one was space gray with black wheels then black, and now dark blue. Its torture i tell you !!

Alex,
Beautiful car I love silverstone !!
I haven't seen one with fox red interior. Can you also post interior pictures of the car?
Only thing I don't like about E92 is its interior style; it is too lux. especially the seats.
But the exterior, engine, the new 7-speed double clutch, and the overall handling of the car is irresistable
