Need advice 997 colours

I will be ordering an MY10 997 4S and am debating colour combinations. In all options I plan to get full leather interior. I last had a 996 4S in Midnight Blue. Would love your thoughts on the following:

1. Atlas Grey with Black interior

2. Meteor Grey w/ Black Interior

3. Meteor Grey w/ Cocoa Interior

I think meteor grey is classic, but too common. And worry that Atlas grey is too dark, even thought its relatively uncommon. Though i must say I like the way it looks in the sun.

Thoughts? Anyone have pictures?

Meteor Grey with Natural Brown leather interior or with two toneblack/sand beige interior.

Do you like Macadamia? It's unusual, and not as OTT as Nordic Gold. It would go well with the two-tone black/sand interior..? (maybe you could specify red seat belts, to go with the red stripe between your tail lights!)

Alternatively, what if you chose the Altas Grey w/black interior, but used "alu-look" accents on the exterior like the "Front air intakes Alu Look opaque" and "Alu Look wing mirror (lower part)" to set it apart? Atlas Grey is a lovely colour, which, though dark, is unusual, and cannot be mistaken for any of the other colours in the range.

Mine is Altas Grey with black interior. Further on I have the painted back seats and the full aluminum package inside (incl the steering wheel). Many people asked me about that color, it looks stunning. Depending on the sun its either blue, black, grey.

Thanks Dave, Ashard and Lars.

I guess its narowing down to either:

Atlas Grey w/Black or Meteor w/Nat brown or beige. My natural inclination is to go with the Atlas Grey (with some of what Lars and Ashard suggested), but then I have had several "dark" colours e.g. my current midnight blue. I have seen a meteor Grey w/Beige and it looked great (light, airy, classic), but that was a S not a 4S and so wonder how it would look with he wider body and the red strip across the back? Any thoughts? BTW it is a car that i will probably keep for 4-5 years.

Also another question thats starting t bother me is, maybe I should wait for the 991?

IMHO Meteor with Natural Brown might not go (but I haven't seen this combo in real life, so can't tell first hand). But sand beige or two tone sand/black with Meteor Grey would surely look nice and airy, as you said.

To make it easier(?!) what if you first freeze on your interior colour choice, and then look for exterior colours to match that? I did that at the time of choosing my colour combo..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 991 will be out in 2011?, and for me that would be too long a wait!

I recently shifted from Meteor to Atlas, but i am now going back to Meteor.

between Atlas and Meteor, I think Meteor accentuates the 911 curves better and looks sportier.

Interior, i 'd go for

Atlas with sand beige or natural brown

Meteor with cocoa or terracotta.

If the 991 wont'e be here until late 2011, that probably means the 4S wont be until 2012 - then that would be too long. So I guess i will have to go ahead with my MY010. So i have to decide on colour

I had an Atlas/Black 997, and have a Meteor/Black Boxster now. I preferred the Atlas - as another poster said, it changes depending on the light - a classy colour I think.

Having said that, I think Meteor would look good with Cocoa - it would match the slight brown-ish hue Meteor has..

I have a 2009 cab TT meteor Grey with two tone black/sand Beige and full CF option. I love the look of my car and my only regret is that I did not order deviating black carpet. Good luck with your purchase

Thanks Yarub. That a great looking TT. The 2-tone also works well with your blacktop.

My 4S will be a coupe so I wonder whether folks think that changes how to think about colours.

But for now, the leading candidate for me based on all your input is:

- meteor w/beige or natural brown

But I have to say, I have found myself going back to the colour I currently have i.e. Midnight blue, but this time with a sandbeige interior. What do folks think about that combo

You might want to consider the tw0 tone Sand Beige/Black interior. It breaks up an overly monotonous beige blah and eliminates the glare from the dash. It looks particularly stunning with deviating black carpts.

Midnight Blue / sand beige will look really nice, and will be quite a change from your 996, at least from the inside!

I also totally agree with Dave63 - the 2-tone is a much more sophisticated choice, and don't forget your deviating black carpets!

Is Aqua Blue too light for your tastes? It will also look nice with a sand/black interior...

there were 2 C4S cars on ebay met/black, sticker 112k you can buy for 85k-89k , brand new cars

Color of course is a very personal choice, and all of your picks sound very nice to me, although I prefer black to the brown tones with Meteor. I have an '08 C4S in Meteor/Black and love the combination, although I admit it is a very conservative color choice. I also have a Boxster parked next to me in Atlas/Black, and personally, I like the Atlas best on the smaller cars - Boxster and Cayman, but IMO, for a C4S Coupe, I think it is less attractive, i.e. too much of the Atlas color. I would however, consider it seriously for a Cab., in combination with a black top.

You didn't say whether you were ordering a Coupe or Cab.?

Thanks ridleyguy. I am considering a coupe. Today I went and looked at some actual cars and I was very impressed with the Atlas Grey on the 4S coupe. It did not seem like too much atlas given the red strip etc, and also it was a beautiful sunny day so the colour had some magic. My deadline to decide is Monday and down to either:

- Atlas w/ sand beige (or 2-tone sand and black)

- Meteor w/cocoa

Munya, although I haven't seen the combination, I agree with Arshad's comment - Atlas w/sand/black sounds great as I think the black in the interior will give the total look greater depth. Hopefully someone can post pictures of the combinations you are looking at to compare. Regarding my previous post, I should have said that I wondered if a C4S Coupe in Atlas might be too much, as I have not seen one in person.

You will have a great looking car IMO with any of your color choices. Best wishes! I look forward to seeing pictures when it arrives.
