I have a 2004 GT3 with PCCB. To date I have covered 95,000 miles without any troubles. Original pads and discs! Never tracked though.

95.000miles? what a garage queen you have there !!! 
I guess you wrote an additional zero to the miles covered 
if not, i think porsche may get your car and take it to their new museum !!

97,000 miles...that's good going...I thought 51,000 miles on mine was pretty good going!
I'm still on original clutch too, and there's some track miles in with mine...I don;t thik track miles actually put much strain on the clutch (no launch starts, heel & toe downshifts)
Is your car a keeper then? I must admit I like the idea of keeping mine for many more miles...

I thought the PCCB mk2 are ok.
You might want to stay clear of the PCCB mk1 though. If I recall correctly, they were suffering from insufficient cooling, which resulted in excessive wear when not used correctly.

Had a 996 GT3 Mk1 before and the RS is quite different. I still miss the induction noise of the 996, guess that the exhaust note completely overlaps everything else. The gearlever is stiff but precise, the stability is superb and in summary the car is a stream of emotions.
Will bring it on track in a couple of weeks, guess there I'll find its true soul!
