i am confused about the different steering wheel options being offered now. In the last pictures posted, there was a new pdk digital display right above the steering airbag.
Is this a new option only available for the rocker button steering?
Does it only come with the sport chrono option?
It seems we still don’t have details about these options.
So far, i am disappointed that the paddle shift steering does not include this display. If this digital display option is only available for buttons steering, then it means only one thing: PAG is promoting the old buttons again either to move stock or to keep their in-house technology alive and ahead of competition. It will no doubt be an exciting new option, and will make it a difficult choice to make… paddles or buttons!!

ALSO>>>> ANOTHER MAJOR CONCERN
its seems that the paddle shift levers are too close to the wiper/cruise-control/signal switches mounte don the steering column. I dont know how easy it is going to be to reach to those paddles when you need to do so quickly and intuitively???
We need to hear it from first hand test drivers or members that attended the frankfurt show!!?? anyone out there?

PDK digital display showa only Sport or Sport Plus sign and that's it. It is only available with Sport Chrono Turbo and button switches steering wheel(both standard and multifunctional). Digital display that ONLY shows words Sport or Sport Plus is as useless gimmick as possible IMHO.
Further, I like new true paddles steering wheel and paddles are IMO the best so far that are attached to the steering wheel. They are sizes just right and feel is great.
NO way that you would by chance activate wipers etc. when shifting with paddles(unless you have really big hands or are seriously fat).

The paddle shift version has lights in the black sections of the horizontal spokes of the steering wheel showing "sport" / "sport plus" on the left and "launch control" on the right. Seems like a useless gimmick to me too. I would prefer some way to activate the different modes from the steering wheel rather than having to reach down behind the gear stick (they don't swap which side the buttons are on for right hand drive).

Martin, you mean lighta on the buttons steering right? there is no evidence of any digital display on the paddle shift steering in the last pictures posted. Unless you have something new to share??

I mean on the new paddle shift wheel in the left and right black areas of the steering wheel spokes. There's a picture taken at Frankfurt in this Porsche Club GB thread but you need to be a member to be able to see it :

You can see the words "SPORT PLUS" and "LAUNCH CONTROL" dimly in the black areas and I'm expecting them to light up when the functions are activated.
I'll ask the poster if he minds me copying the picture here.

Hopefully it will work...

I check out also-when you activate Sport mode Sport sign on left spoke becomes iluminated. On Sport Plus mode Sport Plus sign. Same thing with LC sign on right spoke.
