Definitely no. He was talking about the early dealer cars, which are the ones with which Ferrari does all the testing before presentation.

Well, we know that the durabilty of Ferraris has improved drastically in the last decade. This is further proof of it.
In the old days the factory would have wanted a 180,000 km car back so they could put it in a glass case to exhibit it.

Wow! What lunatics! That's just asking for something bad to happen eventually.
Just get some wheel jack dolleys put them under each well, and push the car in by hand.
...the only thing stopping you in all likelihood, is you!
Since we currently saw 458 only in Rosso Corsa, Giallo Modena and Nero Daytona(ok, and that special Rosso Metallic) I tried to get impression who will it look in any shades of Grey Metallic(Grigio Titanio, Grigio Silverstone or Grigio Ferro-my personal favourite).
Here is a small model in Grigio Silverstone.
Nice one Kreso, is it yours? Where did you get it from?
Silverstone is a tad to dark for my taste, whereas Titanio could appear too light. I agree with you that Grigio Ferro is the best shade of grey.
Only bad thing: the latter is a colour from the 50's - 60's colour range, which will cost you what? 8.500 Euro or something, by all means just too much for just a grey.

I bought Rosso Corsa and Grigio Silverstone via ebay for less money then on http://www.autobarnmodel.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=47
I wanted to see how Grigio Silverstone will look on 458. I agree with you-little bit too dark.
My color will be Grigio Ferro Met. Although it is expensive choice since it is PNTC. It will look awsome with standard wheels with RICS.

Good review. Anyone have these pictures in high resolution?

No real results. Just estimates.
According to real results I have seen, it should do 1/4 mile in about 11,0s at around 130mph.

Nevermind, the 458 is still not out as a 1:18, only 1:43. guess i'm gonna have to wait.
Enmanuel,
I believe the Mattel Hotwheels 1:18 458 model will be available in March. I've had one on pre-order for a few months and the distributor sent me an email saying when it was expected in but I think I must have deleted it by accident. They're going to be available in red, black and yellow (presumably Giallo Triplo Strato).

My dealer said something that you will get a model with the delivery of your 458. Don't know if this is true and what size he was talking about.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.
It will be a 1:43 scale model Stefan which is the same size as Kreso posted (around 10cm in length). They are pretty detailed. I just received the model of my California yesterday. They have even made it right hand drive (I'll forgive them for not flipping the wipers over to match ).

Thanks for the tip ISUK, if you could send any info regarding the pre-order or availability my way i would appreciate it. I'm trying to round up all the V8s . Ordered the Scud i was missing last night. I'm missing now the Cali, and the 355. which ironicaly i had a long time ago but have no idea what happened to it.
Enmanuel,
I usually order my models from these guys www.grandprixlegends.com/diecast-legends Just click on the Diecast Models tab then select scale, manufacturer etc. They don't take a payment from you until the model ships out to you which is good.
There's another good site in Italy www.alpimodel.com/
I ordered a couple of 1:43 458's late yesterday and received an email from the lady there thanking me and saying the cars had been desptached to me. I've been tracking them on the UPS site and should receive them on Monday. Great service so far
Enmanuel:
Alpimodel.com doesn't have the 458 for pre-order. wow you're gonna get all the 1:43 colors of the 458? needed something more solid to make your final decision before you put your order down?
Something like that Ordered a red one and a triple layer yellow for evaluation purposes
Got to get my spec finalised by the end of this month I'm told.

The only snag Stefan is that you have to spend 200k euros + to get a "free" 99.00 euro model

Hey, that's why we all love Ferrari.
So it wasn't for free with your new car?
