Beautiful indeed. Is it just me or is there something more exclusive about Maserati than the other Italian marques? Or is just that footballers don't buy them?

Servicing costs on the new Maseratis are actually pretty good and like current Porsches it only needs maintenance every two years.
Not int the US.
Wow...... at last something better we get in the UK Are you sure though? GranTurismo is definately on a 2 year interval programme here. If it's annual there it must be at the insistence of dealers to earn them $ss.

SL = 2 seats...
2+2 cabrios are very cramped anyway to carry more than 2 persons.
Also owners of such cars also own proper 4-5 seaters for occasions requiring proper transport.
Not true of the GranTurismo. It shares it's floorpan with the Quattroporte and has adequate room for four passengers to travel in comfort. The reason the GranCabrio has a soft top as opposed to a folding hardtop is to preserve the rear seat space as much as possible. Inevitably it will be slighlty narrower in the rear but should still accomodate 4 passengers with relative ease.
The weight issue is a curse of the coupe as well Kreso. It feels a very heavy car in corners and on braking where there is a distinct weight transference to the front end. You learn to adapt to it but the car looks so graceful you almost expect it to be more athletic than it actually is. The S version is a little better in terms of disguising the bulk but these cars are best regarded as large GT's as opposed to lithe sports coupes.

In summary you pay a lot of money to be seen cruising in these cars and to show-off outside cafes without the corresponding dynamics.
I think it's time BMW came up with a better looking version of their 6-series cabrio since there is market for heavy convertible 2+2 poseur cars.

Beautiful! It has no competitor either as far as I know. What other proper 4 seater convertible is there in that price range? There is the Bentley which is more expensive and less sporty, but otherwise I can't think of any other.
Hmm...
There is smaller, faster and IMHO totally better 4 seat cabrion on the market. Audi S5 Cabrio with S tronic.
Better structural integrity then GranCabrio, faster also...
For many(BUT, not me) GranCabrio is better looking car. Just, for the cost of GranCabrio you can buy S5 Cabrio and Cayman S....

You seem to have a problem if anyone wants a car for anything other than outright handling. The Maserati is one of the best looking cars on the road IMHO and aimed at people with good taste as opposed to poseurs I'd suggest.
For many buyers the car isn't really regarded as that expensive compared to other alternatives - Bentley CGT, Aston DB9 etc. It's made in sufficiently low numbers to justify some exclusivity and you aren't going to pull up in a car park full of Maseratis unlike the 6 series where you are just in another BMW amongst the hoardes of 1 series, 3 series, 5s, 7s, X3, X5 etc etc.
Yeah I don't think anyone considering this car would really consider a S5 or M3 cab. Those of half the price afterall and nowhere near as exclusive. I didn't think of the 6 series, but I guess M6 is a direct competitor in price and power, but not exclusivity. When my son grows up a bit more (so he can sit without booster seat), I would consider something like this for the nice weekend trips with the family.
