intouch1:
it would be so cool without the graphics and just a ducktail.....so so cool....but this way it ain't
Maybe the ducktale lid of the Sport Classic fits. Could be a problem with the Ram Air though...
Lars997:
Great looking car, amazing technical data. 0-200 in 12.2., thats very very fast!
We have to wait for independent tests. 997.2 GT3 has a claimed 0-200km/h in 12,3s and all tests so far were in 12,9-13,2s region. Porsche is overestimating performance lately (997.1 GT3, 997 GT2...).
However, 997.2 GT3 RS could really come close to 12s mark. If 997.2 GT3 does it in 13s and RS has 15hp more and especially shorter gearing....

Sad to see that happen. Sometimes performance is much improved after a long break-in period. Engine can loosen up after 25k km or so of leisurely driving or 10k km of hard driving...

Thats right, but some other manufacturers also provide very fresh cars for tests and they fulfill they their claims or even better them. In case of porsche it seems that this problem is only with GT models. GT3,GT2... Turbo usually has better results than claimed.

I'm sure it's a great car, but to much lipstick for my taste. From the Porsche web site it looks like all color combos a bit over-the-edge.
They should offer more colours and a delete option for the silly stickers. Once the initial hype is over I am sure it will be possible - like for the GT3 RS Mk.I
If someone has the time, I'd like to see one in Silver with Red wheels, lipstick, and spoiler endplates, but no graphics.
Thanks!

Is the RS suppose to wider than the standard GT3? No one deems to mention this, I did not even remember reading it the press.
Yes, wider flares in front and rear with wider wheels & tires front & rear too.

As more pics have been released, it's obvious this is just a current metallic grey ( ? slate ).
On the first pics released ( top ) , the processing/lighting almost seemed to present a new color - a sleek very modern metallic blue/grey - anyone else wish Porsche actually produce a color close to this ? ( The day-glo red/orange graphics actually play off better to THIS color than to "muddy brown " slate -second pic of the same car -, IMO)
COOL:
Mehh:
KresoF1:
Actually it is NOT metallic Grey, but solid color called Grauschwarz in German(or Blackgrey is English). It is a special price option.
Solid color , so that explains why it seems to me to look so bland on the studio shots - I thought it was " slate " which usually seems a little bit livelier in pics.

2010 Porsche 997 GT3 RS: Decals and Paint Options...
It has now been confirmed from a highly respected source at Porsche that with regard to the decals and paint options for the new GT3 RS:
1) The "GT3 RS" logos on the new car are all DECALS and can be easily removed...
2) The new GT3 RS can be ordered to be delivered WITHOUT the DECALS fitted...
3) The new GT3 RS may be ordered in ADDITIONAL COLOURS -- other than the three standard colours (Grey Black, Carrara White, Aqua Blue Metallic) -- AFTER the initial THREE MONTH production run...
(e.g. Basalt Black should be fine, but Riviera Blue would still be Paint-To-Sample...)
4) Finally, if you prefer the previous "GT3 RS" decals from the original 997 GT3 RS Gen1, they could even be fitted to the new 2010 Porsche 997 GT3 RS...
