Here are some more pics of the F10 550i, it is looking very promising IMO:

With 407 hp and 600 nm coupled to the new ZF 8-speed auto, this car will have plenty of performance as well. (The 7-series with the same engine does 0-100 kph in 5.2 sec)
Gauss: The pressrelease for the new 5-series will be released in December and the car will be unveiled in Geneva in March.

Janus: With F10/F11 BMW doesn't aim on same buyers as with GT. So everything is on schedule. Some magazines and internet sites refers that date for press release is 23. November, but I think its for at least one month too soon - I will check that next week. Debut will be on Geneva Motorshow.
Lars: Don't worry, its just a photoshop... even a front rim on that PS is bigger than rear one
I heard from the Main Vendor of BMW in Turkey that the new 5 series will be delivered with 3.0L 6 cyclinder engines in March, in Turkey. That means the car will be out in January-Februbary in Germany.
In August 2010, there will be 520d model with twin turbo, producing around 210 Hp. This will be our replacement of current 08 520d. Perfect everyday car with plenty of comfort, driving pelasure, sportiness, power and economy

Lars997:
Finally the interior is driver oriented again. I like it!
Yes, interior is a big step forward, its very similar to 7 series. Some parts in this interior are still pre-production (air vents). Also it has standard screen which is very small, but screen with Navigation Professional is bigger and it is equipment which must be ordered IMO.
But latest FEP pictures suprised me , I had different information - picture about some exterior parts, like for example front lights, they turned out to be different...
Hi Shakal,
Ive seen the last pictures before and I really like the front lights, they look very aggressive! Further on, the hood seems to be very strechted. I'm sure we will see a great final product!
BTW Did you realize that the little window in the rear door always was camouflaged? Especially in the older Pictures, it seemed that this might be one big windows instead of two separated. Maybe we see a surprise there?

Lars, there is defenetly rear small window. Probably its camouflaged because it has more aggressive - coupeish roof end with maybe double Hofmeister Kink like F01 got, which was camouflaged on 7er too.
Small window can be seen on this picture:
janus:
What does FEP mean?
Any confirmations and detail specifications on those 5series power plants, Shakal?
FEP refers that car is in "final evaluation phase." It has three stages.
I don't have official internal broschure yet, so I could be wrong. But I heard that initially new 3000 ccm diesel engine from 730d will be offered, 2000 ccm twin turbo diesel with 207 hp (despite some rumours are it will be introduced later). Also 3000 ccm R6 gasoline engine will be defenetly offered at beginning.
Enmanuel:
the F10 M5 is going to be so good looking, its going to be ridiculous !
Last year I heard that new M5 will have different front to regular 5 series. Kidneys will be a little bigger and front lights more similar to 6 series. Like E90 M3 has same front as E92 M3. Don't know if this information is correct, but soon we will find out... Reason: A lot of 520i with M package, which looks very similar to real M5, can be seen on road and M5 owners don't like that.
Thanx Thoma for new pictures
It would be a smart move for them to differentiate the the real M models even more. People are to used to getting the best looks for little cash...
So how long do you think until first leaked brochure shots?

Ya but as long as they dont differenciate the M cars too much. IMO the basic sport package will already be pretty impressive as the base model is nice to start out with. The differenciate, the M cars might go extreme ugly aggressive which i dont like. example being the M3. I like the 335i with sport package way more.
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

I have just seen today for real the 5GT and I really liked it. So I think that the new 5 series I will like it even more.... As much as BMW was criticised for the design of their cars, I think actually they are some of the very few that build interesting cars these days.
