512TR:
I have to agree with Heist, but also have to "extend" his point for some more time. From the time that LdM took over, Ferraris are getting better and better from any point of view, except the looks. The begining was marvellous. The existing good looking Ferarris (Testarossa and 348) but not very good sports cars, simply changed to great cars (512TR and 355) and perhaps even better looking. But these cars were already great looking (the basic shape), and could not be changed significantly. Even 456 was already ready before LdM.From that time, they appeared F50 (no one can compare this with F40), 550 (relativily goog looking front engined, but without the visual drama of 512tr) and then all the others. With the exception of 599 (not great but acceptabble). Not to mention that the line up changed from 3 midengined (348/355, testarossa/512, f40/f50) and only one frontengined (412/456) to 3 frontengined today (Cali/599/612) towards 2 midengined today (430/Enzo&successor). For 450 i was hoping, but not expected to be a good looking car and as it seems it won't.
I agree with most everything you said, but we have to wait to see the new car in real world situations before saying it is good or not.
The 512 TR is the best 12 in modern fcars but the 599 had some nice lines.
The 348 was the best looking 8 but the CS is not too bad.
Here is a pic of the 512TR and the best looking CS i have ever seen;
