To be picky, the Turbo version of the 964 is actually designated a 965...Smiley

    Exactly! Smiley

Nice addition Whoopsy! kiss Glad you found a black one. indecision

IMHO the prettiest 911 ever built. The perfect amount of aggression coupled to the ultimate culmination of the original 911 body.

I am not sure it's the prettiest but I do like it. But will Nick be happy driving it? With all the spectacular cars he owns, getting in to this dinosaur and driving it would be like going from a F 35 to a single prop airplane.cheeky Oh well, there is no explaining the effect of nostalgia.indecision

Not going for the fastest or whatever. I already have that in the garage for the street.

For the track I also have a race car.

There is infinite gain to be had chasing higher and higher HP sports car, which is why I am not sure about the F12 replacement, at 730HP, the F12 is plenty fast enough, but I am intrigued about the new interior though.

For sedans and SUVs, yes there is still noticeable gain to be had for higher HP, or perhaps more importantly, torque. That's why the hybrid Turbo S interest me, plus the technology.

A 3.6 holds quite dearly in my heart, it was one of the iconic Porsche cars that made a lasting impression in my mind when I was young. I still remember the Road and Track cover when it was first reviewed. The Bad Boys movie also helped smiley

I could have find one and buy one earlier, but as it happens I was chasing the HP and high performance. But now that I have decided enough is enough, I can go back and find those slower, more iconic cars.

Nick, welcome to the club. I have been pontificating on this very subject for quite awhile. I don't want the fastest performance car or the most hp. What I want is excitement, passion and sensory feedback in a sport car.

My Targa is a fabulous sport car but at least for me it doesn't provide the passion or excitement that I garnered from the GT3. That is why I am going back to the GT3. It is not as pretty or versatile as my Targa. I get more compliments with the Targa than I had with the GT3. Yet I yearn for the GT3.

definitely put the original single exhaust pipe on it. this aftermarket exhaust ruins the classic look and gives it a ricer image.

alternatively keep the dual exhaust but remove the shiny tips and just keep 2 grey oval pipes.

This is one of the best looking 911 ever and the one I would choose for a weekend toy of them all, it still has the old school on/off turbo power deliver that I love making it feel much more powerful than it really is, wonderful choice , a real keeper, magnificent Whoopsy, can´t wait to see more pics and driving report  Smiley

Totally agree ! we've reached a Level where it's pointless to add HP in a more and more restricted world but actually should go back to good TRUE Sound - not artificially created  - and enjoy that as Long as we can Smiley

I believe the Turbo always had two exhaust pipes, the Carrera version only had the single exhaust pipe on the right-hand side. Smiley

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

Yes the Turbo 3.6 always had dual exhaust tips.

I will need have the car around so I can assess the extend of the exhaust modification in order to put it back to OEM spec.

    @Ferdie, yes it is.

Nick, there are some cars that are enjoyable to drive while going the speed limit.  Even if the mood strikes him to drive this ancient car only once a month, it will be worth it.
