    V1 + Laser Jammer?

I love the V1 but these days with so many police using laser I'm beginning to think I need a jammer. Has anyone succesfully combined the V1 with a laser jammer?

Which one did you buy and how was it connected to the detector?

    Re: V1 + Laser Jammer?

Actually, I am interested in that as well.. Anyone out there with a jammer installed along with the V1? Thanks

    Re: V1 + Laser Jammer?

Where all the Lidatek people on this board? Carlos don't you have a Lidatek system installed in your 997S?

    Re: V1 + Laser Jammer?

There is something much better than the Lidatek coming out

And I'll be testing it soon PERSONALLY... take a look at these "toys" I'll be using

    Re: V1 + Laser Jammer?

I don't have the V1, but I do have this system and it's fantastic.... click -> Escort

    For Carlos

Carlos, will this new system be available in US and if so do you have any idea when?

    Re: For Carlos

Le Chef, it will be available in US but the US launch is taking longer than they expected. However some people are purchasing to UK directly. But before I recommend it or mention it, I will have to test it myself, and there will be testing performed by also independant US people in April as well. I can post all the results when they are out, and if its not out in US by then and you want one after the test results, you can purchase to UK. But I always recomend to wait for independant testing results though I know it will beat the Lidatek LE-30 for example. This unit I'm talking about seems to be the most promising and anticipated one, with some cool features.

    Re: For Carlos

Chef, FYI the laser shifters became illegal in IL January 1, so proceed with caution...

    Re: For Carlos

    Re: For Carlos

I ll be very interested in your report Carlos..

I need to be sure that we can not be caught with it.... That would be worse then getting caught for speeding!

    Re: For Carlos

On eof the good things about it is that its not sold as a laser jammer, it has another function (a legal one) that serves as an excuse to have it installed in your car, nowere does it say in the manual or anything else that it inteferes with polise laser

Tomorrow morning I will be doing some preliminary testing Laser has gotten very popular here by the police and its a real menace so I will be the first person to install one of the new jammers in my car, just testing to which is the best, I want no surprises nor due I trust other people's words on the matter.

I will also be testing in my car next week a sofisticated 1800 Euro ($2160) radar detector kit

    Re: For Carlos

Definately illegal in New York State.

    Re: For Carlos

Also illegal in France. Be careful to turn it off next time you have to cross the border, Carlos

Having any kind of detecting or jamming device is grounds for the car to be seized on the spot.

Carlos, would you be talking about the Stinger DSI?

For everyone else, I have the Lidatek LE-30 and it's a superb performer. I haven't received a ticket yet with it (*knock, knock*). The new device that Carlos is talking about is certainly the best performing jammer I've ever seen and I'm buying one for the next car.

    Re: For Carlos

I believe (with some difficulty) I can rationalize a radAr detector but for the life of me how can one justify a jammer? With a detector it is another set of eyes but a jammer is interfering with an official traffic monitoring device.

    How can anyone countenance that?

I'm countering the robbery that law enforcement officers are performing on our roads. You wanna get caught? Fine! No, wait, I forgot you obey the speed limits

    Re: For Carlos

Ok, lets not get things confused. One thing is a radar jammer and a completely different one is a laser jammer. It is highly ilegal to emit radar and radar jamming is a federal offense in US for example. However laser jamming is legal in many places, and in the places were its not, the fine is usually the same one you get when caught with a radar detector. Why? becuase a laser jammer is just a devide that emits class-1 legal infrared light just like the one the TV's remote control does. Its not ilegal to emit that 904nm wavelenth infrered light, whats ilegal about it is that it inteferes with the policeman's laser gun, just like its ilegal to detect their radar. But many devices light gareage openers or parking sensors or Nissan's automatic cruise control use the same technology. Its the use thats ilegal.
The terms may sound the same but have nothing in common.

Crash, indeed its the Stinger DSI.

As to the laser jammer I think we are talking about the same one I don't want to mention it until I test it though.

Not with the Stinger DSI. Its COMPLETELY undetecatbel by any police radar detector detector (such as the latest SPECTRE III), and if stoped for any reason I have a button that erases all the radar detecting software of the DSI's memory (DSI is more like a computer than a regular dtecetor) so the is no trace of it and all that is left is its GPS function which is 100% around the world There is no way they can detect it of catch it. Afterwards all I have to do is plug it into my home PC and download the software again.

    Re: V1 + Laser Jammer?

I been using the laser jammer for the last 9 months, I believe it works but you have to understand its limitation. It only buy you an extra 5 seconds or so before the good up to date laser gun is able to pickup you speed. I use it with V1 and it is a great combo. Ps: I think it works even better when you have your headlights turn on! It slows down the laser speed detector to pickup your speed.

    Re: V1 + Laser Jammer?

I had a Target (Dutch) one on my 996. But I think that they have amended the law now in UK so your semi-active infra red radar door opener really must open your garage door. Recent rumor is that the boys in blue have actually checked to see if the device in the radiator intake actually opens your garage door. My local supplier recommended I fit the garage kit as well and wouldn't sell me one without it.

As far as I know such jamming devices in mainland Europe are absolutely illegal so you need to be careful. The great advantage with the previous Target device was it was only about 25mm by 10mm and when mounted by the temperature sensor in the radiator was virtually invisible but highly effective.

It worked every time I was 'targetted'and 5 seconds to lose speed I found to be enough.

I'd be grateful Carlos on any details you have of what you use??

    Re: V1 + Laser Jammer?

John, you are talking about the Target LT400 that can be fitted with the optional garage door opener. Very pricey, and can only be fitted with one transponder so you cannot cover your rear.

I haven't installed the one I'm talking about yet since I haven't finished testing (probably in about 2 weeks time). I will report back on my findings. This one offers rear and front protection, is has parking sensor function so no need of garage opener instalation, and transponder head is simila size as the LT400.
