Hi all,
Was driving the car onto a recovery truck and had to rev the car quite hard and holding the clutch to get up the slope and control the car going up the ramp.
Could smell a horrible burning smell which I think was clutch.
Would this be okay? It wasnt for long.
Depends on your definition of "wasn't for long".
It probably took off some useful service life from the clutch, but might not be too discouraging.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago trying to negotiate up a steep slope.
The smell was really strong and I feared the worse. However when it cooled down the next day the clutch was fine again.
Last year I had the RMS leak and had it replaced under warranty. I took that opportunity to have the clutch renewed at the same time so saving on labour costs for the clutch job. Suggest you do the same if your RMS goes...
