Is the owner of the car Hubert Haupt, because it has been taken to an auction in 2008 for sale?
The owner is the same who had this car made street legal. If this helps...

LOT 252
This is funny, real funny. I took the pictures on May 16th, so how could the car be auctioned (and apparently be sold?) on May 10th??? Maybe the buyer wasn't "good" for the money?! Or did I misunderstand the auction list?

It was May 10th of 2008 but apparently the buyer was a little bit short on cash and the car returns to his current owner...
Now I understand, thanks.
Beautiful car and street legal, yes but still...for that kind of money, I could get a couple of nice cars I always wanted to own/drive like the Lamborghini Murcielago for example. I know, I know, the MC12 is one of a kind but this is a car for somebody who REALLY can afford it (billionaire for example).

I rather have a 911 GT1, that rear end is hideous!
The MC12 is a race car, the GT1 was actually street legal from the start.
Yes, the rear may look a bit hideous but most race cars look hideous in a way or another.
If I would have the money, I would rather drive/own a Lamborghini Murcielago because I still think that this car is the perfect mix between sportiness, design and fun but I agree, to drive the MC12 on the street, you need to be someone who REALLY loves the looks of this car.

Try a Murci for a ride you will like the sound, the straight line power event. the design but the driving position for a sport car is ridiculous and the running cost are like the bip of a small african country...
I agree, the Murcielago driving position is a bit uncomfortable, it is actually not much different from the one in the MC12. The Gallardo is much better in this domain but still...the Murcielago is the sportscar I always dreamt of as a kid. This was the time of the Countach and other "flat" and stylish sportscars and I just can't get past it.

You are right but the Gallardo is still a boosted Audi TTand has not much Lambo Soul...
Although I don't fully agree, I still prefer the Murcielago.
