( Temm, check out the last pic Smiley )

Beautiful landscape and pictures, thanks for sharing!

wow!, all that snow in May

Looks like the roads Top Gear chose to test the GT3RS vs Gallardo vs Vantage on an episode?

Re: New pics crossing the Alps

Fabulous photos - thanks so much for sharing  What a great place to 'play' you have in your 'back yard' Smiley Smiley Reminds me of my own drive through various mountain passes in Switzerland back in 2007...

AFAIK the Top Gear episode featured Fluelapass between Davos and Stelvio Smiley

Gnil, thanks so much for posting these pictures.

Makes the "pain" of not being in CH a bit more bearable.
I have so many good memories of Switcherland... We often used to stay at a little village on the base of the Grimsel and the Susten. But also around Meiringen, Thun... I truly love the Berner Oberland. The simplon and the Furka, I have been therem but I don't remember too much of it. :(

    Thanks again Gnil!

Re: New pics crossing the Alps

Even in the stunning Alps, melting, dirty snow does not look good, nor does overcast skies. I like the last few with the nice curves. Speaking of curves these pics would be much better had they included your wifes caboose or her sunny smile.

Those lower roads would be great for a video just likr that site gt3000 did with the gt3 and gallardo.

The landscape is indeed spectacular, even when the weather is less than perfect.

Gnil can correct this, but I think I remember that some of the high passes sometimes do not open until late June. That's why see some signs in one photo for the rail link for transporting cars by train to get down to Italy.

As EasyRider wrote, the TG footage (comparison Gallardo, DB9?, GT3) was made further east in the Switzerland / Italy / Austria triangle.

Guys, here's a link to a previous thread I posted here on RT which focusses on the Fluelapass route between Davos and Stelvio (mentioned above):

Having to look at all this water is a bummer when you're in that situation, isn't it?  Smiley

Re: New pics crossing the Alps

Gnil, rather than starting a new thread, may I show a couple of old pics I took crossing the alps a couple of years ago? Smiley

They show a bunch of British Ferraristi a long way from home. I guess they were travelling in convoy down to Maranello to stock up on spare parts. Smiley There's safety in numbers. Smiley

I don't know if the little yellow bus was meant to pick up those whose cars didn't make it. SmileyP6150579.jpg

Re: New pics crossing the Alps

Gnil, I've just realized that the car park shown in the last two pics above might in fact be on the Grimsel Pass, so it could be the self-service restaurant referred to in your other current thread? The place with a stone-wall compound containing a marmot on the other side of the road, overlooking the lake? Smiley

I need to go to Switzerland again, and soon, to re-orient myself. Smiley

Hey Gnil, I read that! Thanks for the invitation. Fear I won't make it, but hopefully this summer I'll be visiting Switzerland again, would be nice to meet up then. I'll let you know when the plans arise ;-)

PS, do not forget to invite Pierre. I didn't see him around here for long, but he'll probable be reading those threads every now and then...

I have not seen Pierre for a while..... I must look if he's on the local asphalte.ch car forum. I think he might have had his first kid.....
