Guys, the owner is GERMAN, he lives in Bavaria and he is a very very nice guy, he drives this car on a regular basis on the track and enjoys it a lot, he's not somebody who puts this baby in a private showroom just to look at it.
The mechanic who developed and installed the street legal conversion is also a very nice person, if somebody is interested, I can make a contact. He would be inclined to do another conversion project if the money is right.
The street legal conversion of the car I mention in this thread was around 200000 EUR as far as I remember. With some other performance mods (not necessary), the additional cost was around 300000 EUR (incl. the conversion to be street legal in Germany).
What fascinates me a lot are three items which are part of the conversion:
1. the exhaust system: it has a speed connector, meaning that you can exchange the racing system for the street legal system in around 15 minutes if you need to be fast.
2. the chassis: it has a built-in air lift system which lifts the car for road usage and lowers it for track usage
3. the car has a hand-brake (even if it is kind of dangerous with the available driver adjustable brake force adaptation system)
Not sure if the mechanic I mentioned can get this car street legal in California but since he got it street legal in Germany, I think that most places on this planet shouldn't be a real problem anymore. The german TÜV is used by many countries worldwide for certain safety standards, incl. car certification/homologation.
