    My new Elise

Took delivery about 4 weeks ago, so it's not that new any more Smiley

Here's a photo I took yesterday. Unfortunately I still don't know how to take a nice picture with lots of sunshine...guess I'll never learn Smiley  Smiley

    1241213083960PICT0004_2.jpg

This is in fact my second Elise. The first one, which I bought in 2007, had no longer any factory warranty left (only 2 years at Lotus Smiley) and it already had 40.000 km on the speedometer... so with the weak British pound I thought it might be a good idea to sell it and buy a new one to get 2 years warranty and 0 km again Smiley

Everything worked out just fine, thanks to the VERY kind and professional dealer I had the pleasure to deal with (Lotus London)!

In addition to the same setup my last Elise had, I opted for a few Motorsport options for track use. Some of these are

    - CUP wheels

    - AP-Racing Big Brake Kit (this is awesome!! it's like throwing an anchor!)

    - 2-way-adjustable Öhlins suspension Kit (also amazing!!)

    - Carbonfibre Race Seats (oh I love these!! and they are light Smiley)

    - Harness Bar with SCHROTH harnesses

    - and the usual Sports Pack (Traction control, etc)

I'm very satisfied with the current setup. I'm still looking to find another exhaust. The stock one sounds too ...decent Smiley

I'm going to a track event tomorrow with a couple of friends. Time to try out the new Öhlins and the brakes!! Smiley

    Beautiful car!

So a Lotus dealer in  London sold you a LHD car without any problems?

You mention that your car has the one-piece seats. Is there currently an optional seat available with an adjustable seat-back rake angle?  Smiley

Herzlichen Glückwunsch to your new Ride.Smiley

I think it is an "R" Version.

What do you think about the new factory Supercharger Kit (about 5.000 EUR) ?? Do you have plans to ad it ??

I think I will do it with my 2006er R

    @ all :

    Thanks for your compliments guys!

    errrrr...I doubt that!

    @ fritz :

So a Lotus dealer in  London sold you a LHD car without any problems?

Yes, absolutely no problem! I sent out a few emails to a couple of UK Lotus dealerships asking if I could order a new LHD car from them and Lotus London replied the first.

You mention that your car has the one-piece seats. Is there currently an optional seat available with an adjustable seat-back rake angle?

No, all seats are non adjustable I'm afraid. You can't even move the passenger seat. It is in fixed position already.

I know. That, along with the seat-back rake angle got it a veto from my wife when she tried  it a while ago. Smiley

I just thought they might have come up with an optional seat in the meantime.

A little side note : The factory supercharger uses the smaller MP45 Eaton blower as on the Elise SC and not the MP62 as on the Exige S. This means that it is almost maxed out regarding performance figures.

    Thx guys Smiley

mine has the stage 2 sports exhaust, and it sounds really mean!

The Stage 2 puts out more than 100 dB which is a definite "no" on some circuits. I might go with the Stage 1.

WoW, its a smart move to order a LHD from the UK, now that the british pound is weak, but paper work must be a pain (??), what about other possible costs that where produced to finally register the car in Luxembourg.....or is more simple than what it looks???

Either way, we need more pics !!!!!!, also from the interior !!!

I had been on track with the Elise yesterday, and it is simply astonishing how well it performs on "technical" circuits. Very happy! Smiley

    Hey Alex,

paper work was no issue whatsoever. The only additional paper that I had to fill out was a VAT411 form, which allowed me to get a VAT FREE invoice. I had to go to England with a trailor car to pick it up Smiley

Back in Luxembourg I went to the customs/duty and payed the 15% VAT. After that I registered the car...very easy!

If you want more info, drop me a PM Smiley

    intouch1:

    lovely car.

why did you choose elise over exige ?

I prefer the cabriolet, nothing beats driving a cabriolet through tristy roads with a beautiful scenery (like the suiss alps for example)Smiley

The performance is exactly the same, unless you compare the R with a supercharged Exige (S, or CUP model range).

The Elise feels a tad more nimble and agile because it is 50-90 kg lighter (depending on the Exige model), although the Exige feels more planted in high velocity curves, due to its rear spoiler.

    No problem Gauss. Smiley

Imagine the exige with 268 HP from The Bemani compressor for 850 KG. Was just great. Even some Porsche were at the Castellet behind me. I really miss this car.

I would have love my GT3 in this color

About our road in the alps, yes we are really lucky but unfortunatly the police start to like these places more and more. But even if we do just some road with the top roof off, it's a pleasure.Smiley.

let me find for you a really nice pictures of our roads.

     Very nice picture

As a matter of fact we have planned to go on a one week trip through France, Switzerland and Italy this year in July.

The route will take us from Nauders over the Stelvio Pass to Davos, then to over the Flüela Pass to Bormio. Then we continue to Hinterrhein and then to Mesocco over the San Bernadino Pass. From there we go to see Lugano, Lake Garda, Verona, Venise etc.

We will also drive through the Dolomites (from Bozen to Cortina d'Ampezzo)...

Here are a couple of pics:
