    Porsche GT coupe based on Panamera

    Came across this on the web.

    Apologies if already posted.

This computer generated shows what a two-door version of the Panamera would look like, revealing a stylish grand tourer with classic Porsche proportions.

    Engine options would likely mirror those of the Panamera, which means a range of V8 powertrains as well as a new V6 unit. Power outputs would range from 300hp (225kW) in the base GT Coupe and top out at 500hp (368kW) in the range-topping Turbo model.

    Hey Charlie... you mixed up the dates it is not April 1st today!

    I never expect a Panamera Coupe. This Photoshop is pure illusion. As you know until now Porsche never was able to keep their secrets. And as we didnt here any rumour from insiders, neither we have catched any camoflaged cars, I just cant believe this story.

    If they ever gonna produce a GT derived from the Panamera, they HAVE to give it a better rear end. This bum is hard to tolerate at a big car like the Panamera but it would be an absolutely no-go at a GT-sportscar.

    There will not be anything as a Panamera GT as Porsche is marketing the Panamera as a four door sports coupe, which make a two door version redundant. It would be like Mercedes making a two door version of the CLS or Macdonalds releasing a sandwich version of the Big Mac. 

    The authors of the article are talking gibberish as marketing the Panamera is the main focus for next year along with the development of the new Cayenne. Obviously there are possibilities of creating a two door GT based on the Panamera but it would not be anything blatant as the chop of the car projected in the article. This is pure fiction as Porsche already have their handsful with hybrid engines, new Boxster/Cayman, 991 and Panamera.

    Guys who told you the story about 4-door-coupé? Porsche is explicit talking that Panamera isn´t a coupé. Am I the only one who has seen this car in real? The most stupid thing is comparing Panamera with MB CLS. There are miles away from each other.

    Porsche themselves did so by providing the first official press picture. On top of that, most people expected a "Carrera with four doors" from this brand. So I rather see a erroneous communication from Porsche to be responsible for the mixed perceptions people have of this car.

    I do have to say though that, once abstaining that picture, the car does make more sense. The trunk and interior space (for four people) cannot be compared to 4Porte or CLS but of all more versatile cars, the Panamera will probably be the best handling one. Very nice colour for this car:

    Just saw today one in light gold - looks very good. My son 12 years was with me and he told me - "geeeeil"

    The original drawing looks fantastic but it is very stylised and idealised.  Apparently it couldn't be transferred to a real world practical car. If Porsche came up with a 4 door 911 or a 4 door Ferrari 612-style car, everybody would like the shape little bit more but the same people would complain about impracticalities like tight room, entry/exit problems, lack of storage etc etc.

    The Panamera is a compromise in design  in the Porsche tradition of offering substance without show.

    I have an option for first month delivery. But I won´t take the first half year one. It is a new car and I don´t want to spend 20 days in the garage fixing some faults.

    I thought about an extra colour - something in the seventies old Ford 20 M or Granada did have.

    There are many nice colors: white, yachtingblue, black. For now the white looks for me best.
