So, clubsport package pros and cons, please. Help me
--
There is no try. Just do.
Clubsport package is free, right? Why wouldn't you do it? I think it's a great idea (wish we had it in USA).
Yes, it's free but that is the point. What do I gain? What do I lose?
I must tell you everyone loves to look at my Scuderia seat belts and hates to wear them. GT3 ones are much harder to use than the 4 points Scuderia's.
Also the fire extinguisher tears any lady's socks
Finally, the half-roll cage (it's not the full FIA one), adds weight and diminishes rear side visibility. Also God forbid to need any kind of maintenance in that area... you need to take the seats out, than the roll cage before you can access the computers that are located in the back (just an example).
The only plus I found was safety.... and I don't like to think about that one...
And maybe, I've heard there are some race tracks that do not allow you to enter without this equipment...
Also don't forget that if you select the package the seats are cloth only. You lose the nice leather outer rim of the seat (alcantara in the middle).
reginos:
If the purpose of the car will be predominantly public road forget the CS pack.
If road use will be only incidental, like getting to and from the track, then the balance tips in favour of CS.

It's not where you're going, it's how you get there that counts
Yes, exactly.... I goes down to this. if you use it for track go with CS, if for the road, you don't need it
Gnil:+1 Agree with both

In the UK it's a bit of an illusion that it is free....
You must spec the Carrera GT Bucket seats before you can get the free Clubsport pack... These seats are a £3k option.
Can't see the point of not going full RS if the car is to be used as a track toy ? Be interesting to see what the new RS offers, as if it also has the engine mounts and possibly the axle lifter as standard, with the above seats the price difference may be easier justified (Assuming it is still £14k) ?
Mine will do about four track days a year so i will go for the leather and folding bucket seats (As in the current GT2).
Porsche's logic: it's free IF you select the 3.000 euros seats....
So it's the same in Europe....
Anyway, no Clubsport package for me.
I have no idea what to do about the lift system and the engine mounts...
Also the color... I like red, white, silver and GT silver.
But to pay SO much for the GT silver... and if I get a scratch who knows if the local dealer can get it right...
Damn!
Just to give you an idea: I configured a Carrera S with PDK, Sport+, etc. I got 114K. 20K in options! I feel cheated!
The GT3 on the other hand it's around 133K with everything I want or just 125K in white, without engine mounts and the axle lift system.
And there are bad roads in Romania, trust me. And the GT3 is even lower than my Scuderia...
I truly don't know what to do for the first time in my life (talking about cars of course).
Anyway, thanks everyone for your present and future comments :D

If I were you, I would have kept the Scuderia and go for a facelifted Turbo
I know, I know you haven't asked me
Romanian roads are similar to Turkish roads so I understand what you mean.
So I would have gone with GT2 seats without CS pack. I wouldn't pay much for the paint and go for the white which is the best color for GT3 anyway and it is Free

The clubsport package is available with GT2 seats too!
What I'd like to know is does the clubsport package include a submarine bar beneath the seat for the 6-point harness?
Pros: 6-point harness (if sub bar is included otherwise it's useless), preparation for a master switch, fire exinquisher.
Cons: Nomex seat covering, noisy roll-cage.
I asked you too. That's why I wrote above: "thanks everyone for your present and future comments"
Back on the subject: I don't like turbo's. Really don't. I understand that soon they will be all over us because of emission restrictions but as long as I can have a comparable non-turbo car... I will go for it. Also I am starting to believe that I like rather be slower with a manual and feel more alive than using any kind of paddles. And Scuderia's gearbox IS the BEST. By far. But still... there is something missing. The experience makes me feel more detached. Right now, the only thing keeping me from buying a GT3 is the ground clearance...
But will see. I have only 4.500km with the Scuderia so I believe I will wait until next spring before letting her go.
