    LP670-4 SV

    from another forum

    >Named: Murcielago LP670-4 SV.
    >Shaved off 100 kg of weight.
    > Added 30 hp of power.
    > Net result: 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds.
    > Limited edition of 350 units, made over the next year

"Looks-wise the car is quite aggressive. There are more angles to the front, and they have nicely incorported air intakes on the hood next to the A-Piller. The wheels are a new design and will be a shiny black - The design is nice; I don't care much about the shiny black part. The side mirrors are also nicely redesigned. The back in incredibly aggressive. Although the tail housing remains the same, the bumper protrusions are significant - think Gallardo SL. There is a choice of a standard wing or a more aggressive wing. Standard wing takes top speed up to 342 km/h (2 more than the LP640). The larger wing limits top speed to 337 km/h. Extensive use of carbon fibre all around. The lower edges of the car will be a matte-black carbon fiber while the upper portions will be a gloss black. You can get a big "SV" on the side as an option. Carbon ceramic brakes are standard. Proportions relative to the LP640 remain the same.

Interior of the car looks very nice. Extensive use of alcantara. Passenger side has choice of leather as well.

Overall the car looks hunkered down and mean. Price in Singapore is $1.1 mm, but worldwide price benchmark used was 25% premium to the standard LP640 price.

Car will be officially announced in March 2009. First deliveries in June 2009."

For my taste: way too many. But then: this has been their policy for years now. YOu can be sure that whatever Lambo you buy there will be a better/faster/newer model in only few a months Smiley

No, not at all. They're just "warming over" a lot of models by doing extensions and de-corking the engine or punching it out a little more.

Lambo has brought us 1 model each year for the past 3 or 4 years. It also had record profits in 2008 and will continue to bring an exciting version of the LP640! The LP760 is a sweet new addtion because:

    1) it's RWD!!

    2) It's a supercar even for Lambo terms

    3) It looks amazing

I'm glad to see Lambo doing well ever since the Germans took over!!

Wait a minute ... are you getting some kind of Lambo in your country that we're not getting in USA. In the last 8 years we've gotten only 2 models - Murci (2001 debute) and Gallardo (2003 debute), but in different iterations.

Murci > Murci SE >Murci Roadster > Murci LP640 > Murci LP640 Roadster > and now the Murci SV 670 (which is going to be All Wheel Drive)

Gallardo > Gallardo Spider > Gallardo SE > Gallardo (base upgraded to SE spec essentially) > Gallardo Super Leggera  > Gallardo LP 560-4 and ????

I'm not going to bother talking about the Revention, Versace Ed., and Nera Ed. which were more or less speciality rebodied and/or re-interiored  limited editions.

Unless you consider each of these a seperate "model". I don't consider that a new model -- like a said a redux with some engine decorking or styling warming over.

    Re: LP670-4 SV

well i just consider the spyders to be set apart from the G and the M such that we have 4.. the LE gallardo and such are still considered Gallardo with none sense options to make rich folk feel that much more special. I think i will see the day that each and every single Lambo is a 01/01 edition with a different name and whatnot

+1 Heist! Mike, please tell me the global economic downturn has brought the Zonda price down to near MSRP. You are seriously suffering from supercar madness if you have to pay the millions you mentioned before

I dunno, having toured the factory and been lucky enough to see how the Murcie's are built completely by hand, with an output of 3 cars per day I'd say that any offering from Lambo is fantastic and welcomed. Those cars are works of art and the more variations, the better, IMHO.Smiley

    Re: LP670-4 SV

    Oh, believe me - Rockethead.

I'm not questioning Lambos craftsmenship or rarity, I was just emphasizing that they're basically a two model company with many variations on that model.

Just like the 911...one model, many many variations and options.

ASIDE: One day I'd love to get ahold of Porsche's bill of materials and find out what the true cost of input difference is between the Carrerra 2 and the GT2.

Just to find out what the expenses and margin difference to Porsche is.

I remember I read a book by DeLorean. He said when he was running the show at GM, the difference in costs to GM between their most expensive model, the Sedan Deville Fleetwood Brougham and the least expensive model Chevy Chevette amounted to -- get ready for this -- about $100!

But the mark-up difference at the dealer was in excess of $5,000

I've got mixed feelings for the finish of the rear. It looks imcomplete and a slap-on aftermarket bumper. The front and side profile are quite nice though.

    Re: LP670-4 SV

The front also has a certain aftermarket look Smiley Somehow this SV package "destroys" the clean lines of the LP640 Smiley

I'm pretty sure it will be.

I don't think they have the extra capital for R&D for a new vehicle right now. Basically doing the cheapest/cost effective changes to generate any income to stay alive.

There's something really 80's about that wing. If it was retractable, ala Veyron, I'd say Smiley. But as it is.... I don't know. Maybe it will grow on my over time.Smiley

It looks like aftermarket bodykit to me, not really like it. 3 is sold in HK anyway.
