hey intouch1, I think you'd rather like it being a hardcore motor enthusiast. It's not the fastest in the straight line, but a day at the track will leave you with nothing but smiles.

It's a very easy car to drive to the near limit, and should you lose traction it doesn't snap back at you as hard as other cars would. I enjoy this car far more on the track than I did my old Noble M400. For a daily commute, I would not recommend - although it is very easy to drive and park due to it's size, unless you have super silk smooth roads - you back is going to take a beating for a couple days straight with this car.

Maintenance is also very cheap (mostly Toyota parts) Smiley In stock form, I'm very happy with the car except for the exhaust note, so I took the stage 2 option from Lotus Sport and I'm very happy with how it sounds now. Otherwise I'm not phased about modifying anything on this car at all.

Here are a few videos of mine (some have seen them before, but oh well a re-run can't hurt).

    Re: Annual statistics from Lotus

cool. thanks for the input. i think the exige s is a great toy. it's at the very other end of spectrum of my 427 MKIII.

been eyeing it for long. basically the only thing what's kept me away is that there is no dealership in my country. then again the car will most likely not see more than 2000 km's per year....

    we'll see......

Well good luck in what ever you decide, like I said at least most of the parts are from Toyota - so it will be very easy to maintain even if there wasn't an official dealer.

    Re: Annual statistics from Lotus

If 220 bhp isn't enough for you, then you can always opt for the performance pack and get 243 horsepower.

The following are also very good options if you intend to track the car:

    - AP-Racing brakes

    - Öhlins suspension kit

-Chassis Brace Kit  (Absolutely recommended if driving semi slick tyres like Yokohama A048LTS to avoid toe link failure)

    - harness bar with harnesses

    - maybe an Anti Roll Bar and roll cage

    - Accu Sump or Moroso Pan

    - etc... the list is endless Smiley

but the good thing is, that running costs are very cheap because of the feather weight of these cars! By the way, search Rennteam for a thread on Lotus newest CUP260 MY2009 Smiley

If you're not into tracking the car and If you will be driving the Exige mostly on B roads, then I'd suggest you'll keep it almost standard as it already provides a lot of fun right out of the box. The aircon is a very popular option among Exige drivers however (cabin can get hot in summer - engine sits right behind you).

As Mike already said, the standard exhaust note is a bit boring, but there are a lot of choices. I personally prefer the ARQRAY range but there are others, like Quicksilver, Larini, 2bular, Von Hep, Kreissieg (check that one out !Smiley).

Don't worry too much about the absence of a dealership. The Toyota engine (also often called the Yota engine - Yamaha finetuned the engine) is bulletproof, sort of! Smiley

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!! Smiley

intouch, depending on  your corpulence , you might want to consider the elise instead, since getting in and out of the car is no easy task. with the roof out it gets easier. i have an elise 111R , with the roof on its a pain in the ass to get in and out

Aha, you've been caught red-handed, dhayek : You don't drive your Elise enough!! Smiley

Getting in and out becomes a habit over time. It's no biggie...just requires some practice Smiley

But if all fails, there is the resolution of installing a quick release steering wheel.
