i guess the video you are referring to is the recent one with the gt-r, lambo 560-4 etc.
you can see in the vid that the track is wet.....this is a great advantage for the awd cars.....
on a dry track the outcome would have been very different.
aso keep in mind that the gt2 is a rather difficult car to be driven at 10/10th

Is it just me or does it bother anyone here that everytime the Japanese video Best Motoring use Porsche cars of any model they seem to drive them slow! Every video that I have seen shows a 997 GT2 and GT3 RS get passed on the track with ease by an NSX-R / GT-R and modified F360's ect... It just seems they are biased against Porsche cars. I just dont understand how a Nissan can be faster on a track than a 997 GT2? yet alone any Porsche!
not sure how you can say that... there are many old and not-so-old Best Motoring videos where the Porsches absolutely dominate other cars.
here are some BM races where Porsches did rather well:
993 GT2 in 3rd place losing only to F50 and F40 (GTR in 8th place!) --
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtMfG0io0R4
993 GT2 in 3rd place losing only to F40 and tuned Nismo GTR (another lap and it would clearly have overtaken the Nissan) --
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aqj8ZVcfyFg
996 GT2 in 2nd place losing only to F50 (within a second lap time) --
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1o54mAuo6o
996 GT3 in 1st place, in dominant fashion --
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eTHoTBccK4
996 Turbo in 1st place, beating F360, Evo, GTR (R34) etc -- unfortunately i can't find a youtube copy of the race, but i have the DVD and have seen it online before...
so... you're right, sometimes BM appears awfully biased, and the JDM's can sometimes perform amazingly well. but it is unfair to say that Porsche doesn't do well, and doesn't win outright sometimes.

These videos are entertainment for Japanese fans and not professional tests as we know them from the international press Their goal is to deliver an interesting video clip not to find out about a car's true performance.

x2, its more like the manga version of sportcar track comparison videos... were the japanese comtenders don't follow the same laws of physics than the other countries have to
