Are you able to order the heated steering wheel in the UK and Europe without PDK? In Canada one has to order PDK to be able to get this need to have option in my opinion.

Same here according to the configurator - you can only have the heated steering wheel in conjunction with PDK and heated seats. Smiley

Every car manufacturer should make two option levels. A basic one, and a premium one. On top there could only be a couple of very exotic options, but nothing between basic and premium. You get one or the other, period.

Yeah, but then everyone would end up driving around in exactly the same cars. Which is not the Porsche experience we know and love. Half the fun is about spending weeks agonising over the options list, surely!?

The heated seat on the other hand is a must.  Can't tell how many times I have had the top down in cool weather...warm buns and cold ears.  Now that's a top down day!

Your location, MN, has got to be Minnesota, right? Smiley

How come you still remember  what cool weather is like with your long, harsh winters??? Smiley

Yes Minnesota can be a cold place as has been the case the past couple of months plus we can get a bit of snow.  This is the reason the Audi (winter beater) has quattro, heated steering wheel and heated seats.    That 1st 50 F will seem like a major heat wave Smiley

that is oh so true - tough to get sympathy from others as you explain the problem to other people.

i have never been hit, having suggested that my most pressing problem was where to do deviated stitching but i could see it happen!

    Re: Heated steering wheel

Here's the deal, get the heated steering wheel, because you will miss not having it and it is far more expensive to retrofit.

I have owned many cars, wishing that I had spent a few extra dollars  to get exactly what I wanted.   It won't negatively or positively effect resale value (most options add little to zero to resale value), but looking at all these snowy pictures makes my fingers feel numb.

I see, just enough to please YOUR sensibilities , right?

    Re: Heated steering wheel

I have a heated wheel in the cayenne (winter driver), works great, feels great.

the C4S (drive in spring, summer and fall) doesn't and I don't miss it.

Your dead right there. I've had two goes at the Boxster but even with the second and current car, having thrown the options book at it, there are still a couple of things I wish I'd put on it, namely Bose sound because the sound package plus is diabolically bad, and I would have gone for the leather door trim finishers. The other bits I wanted I've retrofitted, namely chrome exhaust tips, PSE (which wasn't available when I ordered my car) short - shifter and the aluminium gear lever and handbrake.
