I wonder if that's the manual gearbox or PDK on that engine?
The thread title gives the answer
Nothing broken in the engine - it was just taken out of the chassis for demonstration purposes. There was one of Zuffenhausen's transmission development engineers in the PZ explaining the PDK technology to the visitors (launch party for the 987 FL models).
@ Reginos: yes, fab 2.7 RS

Porsche-Jeck:Astonishing! I've seen immaculate 1972 2.4S advertised for around 65K and I've never thought the RS would command such a premium!
Actually the asking price here in Germany is more like 200k-300k € Though I don't know at which price point deals are closed

A nice 2.7l RS Touring went for € 133,700 (incl. taxes 20%) at an auction in Paris about 10 days ago.
A 3.0 RSR (1974) in pristine conditions went for € 408,000 (incl. taxes)
A Matra 650 (1969) that won the 1,000km race of Paris in 1969 (Beltoise/Pescarolo) went for € 1,5m (incl. taxes) ....
I would say, a good 2.7l RS Touring would be in the € 120-150k range and you would have to add € 20k at least for a "light".
Definitely it was a true keeper ...
I wish I could find one like yours ....
I'm looking for one with a flashy color (purple, green, yellow, ....), right now I believe 2.4l S are clearly overpriced ... I suspect the current recession will bring prices to more "acceptable" levels ....
Oh boy,
they orange rs is a stunner! I saw one a couple of years ago, was the private property of the founder of hollands's porsche importer, Ben Pon. I was there with a friend with a different taste in cars, and he kept on dragging me away from it :P
