Hi Rich, you may find this old thread useful on my own experience of being invited to try the 997 Mk2 at Silverstone:

Rich C (UK):
Just received a letter from Porsche inviting me to drive the new Boxster next month at their driver experience at Silverstone.. be silly not to accept.. anyone else going ;) ??
No I've not been invited - I've only bought two new Boxsters in the last three years - I am obviously not considered a good enough customer.

Au contraire dreamcar, you are a good customer which is why they figure they don't need to tempt you with goodies - you said elsewhere that this would probably be your last Porsche for a while so you will probably get an invite in a year or two.
I had an invite for the 13th (Friday!), 17th or 19th, so I picked the 19th - anyone else going that day?

Hi Charles - long time no hear, trust all is well with you and yours We frequently drive through your neck of the woods on the A272 when we go to visit SWMBO's mother in Burgess Hill. Maybe we could meet up again somewhen.
Clearly, goodwill means nothing to Porsche - they are still living in the good times when customers couldn't get through the showroom doors quick enough to buy their cars. Now times are very different and if they want repeat customers they need to keep their existing customers sweet - and they won't do that by arrogance and indifference. We didn't even get the usual Christmas card this year from our dealer!

I've been getting sales calls from Exeter, but that OPC says they aren't having a specific launch event for the FLs, they're saving it for the Panamera later in the year.
Clearly some potential customers are considered more important than others. You and me are clearly unimportant. F**k 'em. I don't even get sales calls......(only from BMW about once a month). BMW, unlike Porsche have come to realise that in this market being proactive is the way to get sales.
Still, had a lovely crisp top down drive back from Portsmouth this morning in the winter sun
