    F450 Mule Pics

    Here are a few shots taken of what I assume to be F450 mules in various states of development. These were taken this past weekend in Maranello by a friend of mine from Spain. He's still in the process of sending me his pics, so I'll add more if I get them.n1151288466_326361_3374.jpg

    The red one has some interesting air inlets behind the rear glass.

    It also has a different rear light treatment, backing up claims that it will follow the 599 and California into the single rear light scheme. I notice it also doesn't have the prominent gearbox unit exposed below the bumper like the Scud has.

    Wow those are really good shots! Your friend is lucky and could get a little $$$ for those indeed.

    Probably because the Maserati are 19in up front like the F430 but an 1inch wider. (7.5F vs. 8.5M) It'll probably be the new size F450 runs up front and Ferrari doesn't  want to show off the new design.

    Here are a few more of the yellow one. He said that the red one only appeared for a second as it was hurried by the gate on a flatbed.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we have these yellow and red mules of what appears to be a 430/Scuderia before? And wasn't it said, that it could be an Enzo successor because of the huge wheel/tyre size at the rear? Smiley

    Exactly what I thought Rossi!

    I dont see anything new in this cars. There might be a different engine underneath, but how should we see that? Body is the same IMO

    Lars, I really think that is a mule of a forthcoming Ferrari-midengine-sportscar.

    Only question is, is it the next F430 or the next Enzo. Smiley

    Difficult question - might be any of them.

    Just not sure if the dimension are being the same for an Enzo successor. I guess this car will be full carbon frame. Means for me, it has a complete different structure as a potential F430 successor or the F430 itself.

    Further on, I dont expect a to big model change with the next F430 successor. I guess, we will see something minor like from the 997 to the 997-2. More HP, different suspensions, improved gearbox, etc. The frame (or body-frame) will most probably stay for a high percentage the same!

    To me the yellow one looks like someone at ferrari decided to mix 50/50 a 355 and a 360/430 to get this new body.

    They must be reading our threads.

    they need to do something more radical this time around as the 430 is based on the 360 and is basically only a cosmetic  upgrade with very few mods.

    I'm sure the final design will differ remarkably from the current car, it's just beneath the camo and we can't see it. Smiley

    Take a look at side air inlet in front of the the rear wheels of this red mule: it's much more curved than that of the F430. Actually reminds me of the F355, which is a good thing.

    Also note the small yellow sticker at the side-window! Smiley

    As I wrote earlier. ferrari is following Porsche as to new models. You can get away with it if your selling the car for less than $100,000 but when you sell a car for close to $300,000, I don't believe Ferrari buyers will go for it. Smiley

    Nick, let's just wait and see. I am very confident, that Ferrari will surprise us with a great new design. There are people, who have already seen it and think it looks gorgeous. And I'm sure, it will differ substantially from the 360/430. Smiley
