Enzo they know nothing about power, but after all what we discuss here,i think 435Hp...also if with 450 it will be a BEAST!!

    Re: 997 GT3 MK2 new pics

article on globalmotors.net seems to confirm 3.8 litres with DFI and PDK as option. only mentions 400 plus as power though

    Re: 997 GT3 MK2 new pics

By logical deduction (DFI on Carrera and Cayman engines) the power will be +20 to +30PS i.e. 435-445PS.

    With PDK LC 0-100km <4secs.

I don't think you can make that assumption about power, since the new GT3 motor is not simply the old GT3 motor with DFI added.  It is closely related to the current C2S motor which is already DFI and is already 3.8L.  So, any increase is just from making a few mods to the existing 385hp engine.  To get to 445hp, that would be like an X-51 powerkit that delivers 60hp (usually the increase is much smaller).

    Re: 997 GT3 MK2 new pics

So it will probably be DFI Carrera S + some 30HP  = around 415HP.

Same as outgoing GT3 model but better emissions and economy.

I think that is much closer.  I'm optimistic that it will be a little more (420-425hp) and hopefully the redline will be at least 8,000 rpmSmiley

    Re: 997 GT3 MK2 new pics

GT3 engine is much more than X51power kit .  Since outgoing GT3 had 415 HP  ( 115.3 / L )  I see no reason why new one would not have 438 +  ( likely 440 HP )  - DFI +light pistons and con-rods + high rev camshaft + modified air intake / exhaust ...      GT3  must be significantly more powerful than Carrera S   ( for that amount of HP and only 200 ccm more in displacement  -  it has to go to 8000 rpm   Smiley  )

RSR has air restrictors to limit power. An RSR engine run without restrictors is well over 600bhp.

    Re: 997 GT3 MK2 new pics

i see thanks. but has the headline (with restrictors) hp of the rsr ever been lower than the then current GT3?    if not think this might cap expectations of gt3 hp

    Re: 997 GT3 MK2 new pics

    Too complicated.

Maybe it will look better in a  darker colour.

Price increase will be meant to compensate for missing spare part business (longer life for front splitter due to adjustable front height)   Smiley
