With top speed of 300+ Km/h (turbo) - I say , YES  ...  plus , Porsche is of no gimmicks on their car

Question is, does a car like the Panamera really need such a "thing"? Smiley

    --

The secret of life is to admire without desiring.

All fast cars with a sloping rear need a spoiler to reduce lift or a wing to produce downforce.

Think of the original Audi TT. They had to hastily fit that little spoiler just after production started because of high speed stability problems.

Yes, it does. On the other hand just imagine that Porsche would have given the Panamera a FIXED wing. Ouch. I'm already waiting for those who demand a fixed wing or who are asking for the availability of a Panamera aerokit. Smiley

Porsche needed to introduce the Panamera, it was the right decision. The only problem I have with this decision is SIZE, DESIGN, TIMING of introduction and PRICE TAG.

Oh well...what do I know...the Cayenne wasn't a beauty queen either and had huge success. I still think that the time isn't right for the Cayenne, it is a HUGE limousine and I can't really see who would buy this in the current economy but maybe Wiedeking and his gang are lucky and the economy recovers much faster in China but I somehow have my doubts about it.

My prediction is , that 20 000 Panameras will be sold in less than 12 months

Re: Panamera - Not a good start

    My feelilngs are:

PRO's: performance and expected handling, interior design and build.

CON's: its ridiculously butt ugly, huge, pricey, and holds only TWO seats in the rear!

Will it sell, yes, even if its just for the badge alone it will sell, but nothing close to the Cayenne when it was introduced. I don't see that many potential customers for it as the Cayenne had in its day. But who knows...

Re: Panamera - Not a good start

According to my info it really does. That speaks also about aerodynamics little bit... Over 300km/h is not achieved that easy. Pana Turbo needs that ricer like spoiler to produce needed downforce at over 260km/h...

    P.S.

Saw California today in Grigio Titanio with 20" and chocolato interier. I really hate to say this-I like it. And sound is truly great...

ed_moree , you like Panamera in this color (me too) - it's amazing how much different she looks from picture to picture .

Thanks Misha! Yes a colour that looks modern and classic in the same time!!! It has a shape that it is very interesting, because depending on the place you stay when looking at it, it looks very nice or a bit heavy. In this two pictures I like it in both!

Ok here is mine: exactly 19995/ year Smiley!  I mean no more and no less than that, but because they have been used with the succes of the Cayenne, Porsche will say that it is not enough!

Well, in the netherlands, you see a lot more SUVs than you see uber limousines. So I guess here the market for a cayenne would be bigger than the market for a panamera?

With air suspension and selectable suspension modes, the larger rims won't be a problem IMO.
