Currently, I think that the 997 1st gen(pre-facelift) has a very "clean" design in the tradition of the classic 911. Porsche should care less about the exterior and more about the interior and the technical part. I know they want to sell cars but a 911 is not ANY other car, so changing the exterior every three years may actually be a curse and not helpful at all.
Personally, I would stretch the 911 a little bit(not much!) to allow more leg room for the rear passengers. If drivers need something smaller, there is the Cayman.

I wouldnt need the legroom for kids but my golfbag would like it
Also, I think a streched version would make the car a bit more quiet on High Speeds. Just not sure what the corner handling would do?
I was thinking the headlights look very CGT but you know what I've yet too see a magazine PS exactly way a a Porsche is going to look this far ahead of production.

I think we should worry - not . Even the air intakes and front lip on P-shop are way off from one on the mule , which I believe are final , specially front lip ( only camouflaged with that turbo spoiler ) . After all , the head lights on the mule are not exactly 997 (that black piece) I am pretty sure that 'red car' front is 'borrowed' from next Boxster / Cayman .
Well, I'm really, REALLY worried about the foglight warts. Under all the camo, there seems to be a definite shape visible already. Look at the inward sides of the inlets on the front bumper. I can't see whether the foglights are part of that definite shape also, but I really hate them the way they are now, as they spoil the clean lines of the car. The same way, I really hate those lights on the 997 turbo.

As a new member I live vicariously through my fellow members. It has been over 13 years since I sold my Porsche and I hope someday I will be fortunate again to have such a great vehicle in my possession.
Now having said that I have never been much of a fan of theTT. I much prefer the clean lines a C4S or GT3. However, the spy pics of the 998 TT posted by Misha make me change my mind. That is one sweet, sweet looking car ! If only.

You are right Ron!
The roof looks much better and gives a much smoother and sportier shape to that car. Also I agree, the wheelbase seems indeed a bit longer and the area behind the rear wheel is longer, too! Two ideas pop into my mind:
1. the wheelbase and car is longer as the wheigtbalnce will move ahead of the axle (mid-engined)
2. the engine gets much bigger (maybe 8 or 10 Cyl), thats also the reason why the back changes more and is thatfore heavier camoflaged as the front. where they still can keep the 997 look until the "ready" product comes. In the rear they cant stick to the 997 look for camo as it is totally new
