What a crap is that on the C6... is this honestly a factory solution?
Regarding the spyshot with that sunroof - The Targa roof runs inside the car, not outside - doesn't it? It actually might be a convertible roof a la VW EOS, but to be honest the car looks like a Coupe?

yes it does. this is clearly a new mechanism that follows neither the existing sun roof nor the targa. It looks to be almost as big an opening as the targa though.

That is a joker, probably with an early car. Some early C6 roofs did delaminate but that has long been resolved. On a C6 the targa roof is removable and stored in the trunk. The Z06's roof is fixed.

I think it simply sounded like a flat six on very low rev... maybe a new PDK eco drive mode

Hello everybody!
I have seen a photoshoped pic of the upcoming 911 in 2011/2012 and was shocked... I saw a 911 that had the front lights of the Boxster... PLEASE Porsche DON´T repeat the misstake of the 996-911 and keep the unique and classic 911-look.
I am looking forward to more new spy-pics!!!

Spied: Road-going Porsche 911 GT3 Hybrid...
(19 April 2010)
Following the launch of its 911 GT3 R Hybrid racecar, Porsche appears to be readying a road-going version of the greener supercar. Our spy photographers have just sent us the first images of what appears to be a 911 GT3 Hybrid for the streets.
Porsche debuted the 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car at the Geneva Motor Show a few months ago. Then, at its second race in the Nurburgring Endurance Series, the GT3 R Hyrbid made the podium with a 3rd place finish.
Now Porsche seems ready to make another move with a hybrid version of the regular, road-going 911 GT3!
Caught in Germany, this GT3 test vehicle is sporting nearly the exact same bodywork we’ve seen on the GT3 R Hybrid race car. Specifically, we see the same vents on top of the rear fender as well as the air intakes that appear just in front of the rear fender.
Only time will tell exactly how much of the race car’s powertrain will make it into this “regular” GT3 hybrid model. The racing version of the hybrid produced more than 500 horsepower, which would make for one wild production car.

Spy Photos: Porsche 911 GT3 Hybrid Prototype Spotted in Germany...
You might remember the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid that showed up in Geneva last month. It was the first look at Porsche's idea of how hybrid technology might be deployed in its sports cars.
It was easy to pass the show car off as nothing more than display piece to give Porsche some green credibility, but this prototype proves that Porsche is taking the effort seriously. The company is expected to have an entry in the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring next month and eventually a 24 Hours of Le Mans car too. Should be interesting to see how the technology makes its way into the road cars.

Porsche's hybrid 911 spied...
Caught near the Nurburgring, does this prototype prove that a petrol-electric 911 is on the way?
(20 April 2010)
From the racetrack to the road! Porsche threw the covers off its 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and judging by these exclusive spy shots a roadgoing version is on the way too.
Caught near the Nurburgring in Germany, this mysterious prototype has a number of telltale signs that under the skin it's no ordinary 911. The air intakes infront of and just above the rear wheels are exact replicas of the bodywork seen on the hybrid racecar.
The 911 GT3 Hybrid R has already enjoyed some success on the track, scoring a podium finish in only its second appearance in the Nurburgring Endurance Series. And now porsche it attempting to transfer that proven motorsport pedigree to its road cars.
Using a newly-developed 473bhp 4.0-litre flat-six engine, coupled to a pair of 80bhp motors on the front axle, the hybid race car is designed to be a test bed for future road car applications. So expect the roadgoing 911 hybrid to use the same engine and electric motor combination - making it one of the fastest, but also the most efficient 911 ever when it goes on sale in 2012.

OMG GT2 RS, GT3 R Hybrid, Porsche is on fire. That hybrid looks amazing. They really are offering race cars for the street now, listening to customer demand? Well i think it's great that we see the 911 GTs mature so much. the new GT3 RS shares 80% with the actual race car
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

I agree. Ever since WW left Porsche they seem to be getting back to their roots. But they need to drop this ugly machine from their portfolio .

Wow, Porsche marketing at it's finest:
First intorduce Hybrid on relatively "normal" cars like the Cayenne and the Panamera.
Then with the GT3-R as a researchplatform
Then 918 Spyder
Finally, they introduce it on the 911, and to make the message even stronger, on the most sporty variant of it...
Had porsche introduced hybrid on the 911 a year ago, we fanboys would have nailed them to the cross, since we would've considered it unworthy of the holy 911. Now, we're all being excited and looking forward to it... How strong the power of image building can be!
