California GT

FWIW, I am hearing from many source that many who were on the list for this car are dropping out at an alarming rate. Most 430 owners are not interested in the car and the first time Ferrari buyers on the list are beginning to have second thoughts given the financial market conditions and it is a front engine MINI Ferrari. The resale market for Ferrari's is terrible. I will be selling my car at a price much lower than what I paid for it. Front engine Ferrari's are in a nose dive.

Not surprising. It'll be interesting to see how F "hides" this fact. There'll be no "rebadging" as they did with the Dino at one time to get rid of them. I think the "girlie man" aspect of the Caleefornia has a few spooked too. Anyone buying this car will need to prepare for a "hit" so in this economic climate it takes guts to just burn money unless you're buying one for the wife because you really want a 430 replacement. ;)

BTW, this is what they'll end up doing for the 430 replacement if it looks like it'll be a hit. They'll make people buy a Caleefornia to get on the "list" for the more exclusive 430 replacement.

The other day I was sitting in an 09 997 tt cab stickered at 150K. I know thru fchat that used 430's are now in that same price range and 360's at 70K and lower. Will this hurt porsche given the fact that 997tt sales are low volume and those buyers can now grab these fcars at equal or better prices.

Are 997 tt buyers that dedicated to porsche or will they buy the fcar for the status/experience?

There will be no long list for next F cars, the reason is the used market will be saturated with 430 at much lower prices than future MSRP of the F142, thus people will buy these instead...

why anyone would trade their F430 for a california is beyond me.I actually hope the potential customers boycott the California and the sales flop so that Ferrari realise that there is no market for an ugly ferrari......wishful thinking ofcourse.
