    It's because Porsche have control over the franchises. Three years ago the dealers had much more flexibility - now they're completely under the control of Porsche UK. They have no leeway to give freebies away any longer.

    Porsche East London gave me a key ring and (after I hassled them) a set of floor mats.

    OK, mine was 2k miles old but I didn't get anything from OPC West London either!

    I got a promise to be put on the list for the Experience day but 4 months later and I haven't heard anything since despite copious amounts of chasing.

    Saying that, when I bought the car I did get 500 quid off plus wheel centers thrown in. But with the extra Zymol treatment costs it pretty much cancelled out the discount in the end. I later looked up how much a Zymol Porsche pack costs and turns out OPC made about 200 quid out of me (must have been the labor)! I wasn't amused...

    All new 997 purchases in the UK get a free Driving Experience Day - if you haven't heard by now, call them and ask where it is !

    Mine was *nearly* new so I dont think I technically qualify, even though I was verbally promised one

    I bought my 987S from Colchester here in the UK. No freebies initially but I got 1000 gbp discount, after hour delivery to my doorstep and a car care kit plus some key rings after calling and asking for gifts. It was a pre-reg car though which might make a difference for the discount/freebie purpose.

    londondude, the PDE is on the option list as 'standard' in th u.k. i.e free. PDE's are administered from porsche head office? (not the dealer) but the dealer should be able to make the arrangements. I asked my dealer on wednesday, and he told me I would be sent a letter advising me of my PDE day shortly (got the car on wednesday).
