My tuner said he heard the RS4's were having engine "reliability" problems in Europe, thus the reason for the delay of the USA intro. Any confirmation of that from our European members?
I was initially tempted to trade up my tuned S4 for the RS4, but I'm not sure if the performance difference would be great, and the reliability question cooled me off.

Turbo Al, never heard about reliability issue... My friend in Italy have RS4(limo) and I was extremly impressed with car. It blows away my M3(e46) without any problems! Engine is amazing and new power distribution(40/60-front/rear) works excellent! Brakes are in Porsche class(365mm front with 8calipers)... I am thinking myself about RS4...
In recent test in german AMS RS4(limo) did 0-100km/h in 4.4s!
BTW, RS4 limo also have RS4 badges on rear doors.

This is a small review of Audi RS4 limo:
This is my friends car with 9000km on clock so runn-in thing was not an issue. We drove from Zagreb to Rijeka, he was driving his Porsche 997 Carrera S(-20mm/LSD) and I was in his RS4... First thing that I noticed was how good new RS4 seats are! Truly excellent seats! Steering wheel is nice as well, small(365mm) but, very Lambo like in feel...
Engine is as previously said amazing! They way it is pulling from low revs is something really suprising to any BMW M3 owner(as myself) but, also to my friend as well(997 Carrera S owner as well!). It is very linear in feel and extra kick is after 4500rpm... To our huge suprise car is almost faster then 997 Carrera S! Of course not in top speed. But on the autobahn(or highway) you can be at the bumper of 997 Carrera S in Audi RS4 till 250km/h!
Brakes are excellent, front one are same as Gallardo's-365mm/8piston and Audi is from now offering Ceramic front brakes as option(380mm/6piston-same one as fronts on new 997 Turbo). This RS4 was with optional Quattro gmbh Sports suspension(-10mm) and it is very stable car on high speed. It is little bit nose heavy but, not as previous sports Audi's. On our return we were driving on so called country roads and RS4 was excellent on this roads as well. I followed my friend in 997 Carrera S without any problems... Traction is amazing as I saw that he even pushed his 997 in oversteer in some tight turns(road was not fully dry...). I had NO problems with traction in RS4!
Of course, 997 Carrera S is better sports car, more emotional as well. Regarding engine sound I like RS4 sound a lot, specially when you push sports button on steering wheel.
It is the best Audi car that I ever drived and honestly I would love to one own along side with my forthcoming Ferrari F430F1 and Porsche 997 Turbo(manual with LSD)! As I daily driver it is better then any Porsche IMO(and with hard to beat winter weather capabilities).

That is my biggest problem with Porsche at the moment.

I thought that the Lambo had a DSG gearbox (more than 300 BHP)?
The DSG cannot be fitted to the RS4 due to engine setup, i.e. transverse v longitudial (or vice versa can't remember which way around it is).
I had a deposit down on one but pulled out. Nice cars though!
