    other than braking "feel" which is significant obivously, does anyone know the objective differences in braking distance between steel and PCCB?

    I think it depends on how many stops you measure. I think the steel might stop faster on the first stop and PCCB might stop faster on the 10th. Several folks have said that PCCB don't work so well on the first try when it's cold and/or wet weather...

    Yeap, we are not advice to drive that fast upon start up anyway?
    Always let the engine, brakes and tranny warm up to operating temperatures first before hitting the floorboard.

    does anyone know the stopping distnace for the cayman from 60 to 0? i'm curious if it bests the 997. thanks.

    April 2006 Motor Trend did a comparison test between the standard Carrera 911 and the Cayman S. It has braking, 60-0 mph 911 Carrera 107 ft, Cayman S 109 ft.

    That's obviously good advice - it's just that deer crossing the road and other unknown obstacles don't always play by the same rules

    I have driven my Cayman, which has PCCB, for 1800 miles. I have not noticed a first stop problem. The brakes have always provided a consistent controled response.

    That's right First stop...thousandth stop feels the same everytime, all the time
    BTW, I am referring only to the improved 2nd generation of the PCCB
