i wonder if my 997S PCCB brakes can put onto 997 TT instead of ordering the 380mm PCCB. Could save some bucks!
thks

We don't know that yet, but the question is WHY? The standard steel brake is already as big as the 997 PCCBs, so the difference would be negligible IMO. Probably would just need to change the rotors and pads.

Actually, I thought the PCCB brakes were 380 mm whereas the standard front rotors are only 355 mm?
PCCB for 997 Carrera models: 350 mm front and rear.
PCCB for 997 Turbo and GT3: 380 mm front and 350 mm rear (one reason why it costs more)

Not that easy, I'm afraid. And the PCCB isn't about shorter braking distance but other things like linear brake modulation, unsprung weight, etc..

RC, I know that. Bigger brakes are there for heat dissipation, since the tyres are the limiting factor anyway. A good, big steel brake won't just fade like that, especially with good cooling.

Conventional brakes, regardless of their size, will never be able to take the abuse that Creamics can. Period...end of story.

That's true. But is the added bit of performance really worth the price of adapting a brake system from another car and going through all the hassle, instead of just buying a bigger brake (380 mm PCCB) and paying extra for it?

At $9000, it's worth it.

Yes, that's what I meant.
Why install a PCCB brake from ANOTHER model and go through all the hassle, when the difference wouldn't be as big as if you bought the 380 mm PCCB, specially designed for the car? Basically, I'd say either keep the standard brakes, get the 380 mm PCCB, but DON'T buy the Carrera S PCCBs.

No, you misunderstood. He already has PCCB on a 997S and want to switch those to the a 997 turbo, if he decides to get one. In that case he would save $9000, because, that's the price for optional PCCB on the new turbo.

one of the risk of doing this is you could possibly have some problems with your ABS and stability control systems

hi guys,
The standard 997 tt brakes front 350mm and the 997S PCCB 350mm as well. beside, weigh approximately 50% less than the ones regularly used.
Should give it a try, yes? no? anyone?
thks

Yes, you should do it. Not only is the rotor the same size, but, the calipers on your 997S have six pistons up front and four pistons in the back just like the standard steel brakes on the 997tt. I'm almost certain they are exactly the same, with different color paint.
They should be totally interchangeable with out any mods.
