scheme, how much is that baby in terracotta with PASM gonna run you? I think you are also getting the bose? With PASM, you might as well go all out and get PCM and the sport chrono plus. That will put you well into 920K roughly cos options alone would be around 120K? Metallic paint 16K, terracotta 30K and the PASM around 45K? Yours is much nicer than mine. Now you are making me wonder if I should go all out... but wait till MAY. I couldn't wait anymore and there is one stock Jan 06 production, plain vanilla and no PASM and no PCM. You know the option I do want seriously is the PCM navigation and sport chrono which you can't retrofit. Do you like the navigation PCM system? I truly dislike the normal radio screen but that runs around 50k alone and on a S will mean May delivery instead of March.

Well mine runs up to HKD920k already without Sport chrono and PCM so will skip them! I think PCM will just make the Boxster cheaper coz I checked it out, big screen with a useless navigation system for HK. With the PCM you get the big screen and a second CD changer in front for the navigation system (sort of against the purist nature)! If it is of use in HK then would consider now that the navigation is no use and will get another CD changer in the front hood will definitely skip...

yeah? some enthusiasts said the PCM would make it too fancy and they loved it minimalist. Even the sport chrono was touted as more of a gimmick to many and it was used more for pure decoration. I think I am moving over to that camp.
Do you happen to know how good the reception is on the DVD NAV on the big screen. My cousin said that it would not be applicable in HK as a lot of times you would miss a turn here and there because of the tall buildings and bad reception. No idea on that one. Mine is running up to 90K metallic paint and eating up a few silver grey seatbelts as unecessary options in exchange for an earlier delivery date.
Heard PASM would go well with sport chrono and PCM and that was all... I knew nothing about it. Some liked it even simpler like on the older 996 as 997 already had interior like a palace to purists. what da ya think?

paid my 150,000 deposit and signing the contract on 1/2/05. I think firmed arrival in march silver black interior.
I asked Paul Lai if the PCM could be retrofitted and he highly recommended me to not do that although it could be done on paper. He said it wasn't worth it and I was only interested in a better screen like the 997. It looks like the car would not be retrofitted with anything. So it comes down to I either wait some more till May to customize it or get instant gratification. So this time around, I had a naked 987s tiptronic and it is nonetheless definitely better than a fully loaded 987 plain boxster.
By the way, the first service is always at 5000 KM no? You earlier mentioned that you would change the oil and fluids at 2500 km? Breakin is keeping it under 4000 rpm for the first 2000-3000 km I think.

Congrats on your decision and purchase! No doubt you'll get "miles of smiles" with your new ride!! I IMHO would agree with naked "S" than loaded base, but to each his own and best of luck. First service I believe is 15000km or 12 months, not sure 'bout the breaking in k's.

Thanks Charlie Pug. It's a plain arctic silver with black top/black interior. Metallic Paint and Silver Grey Seat Belt.

Hey guys, it's my first post and I just ordered the 987 (Manual, Metallic black on Black leather, sport shifter, aluminum shift knob and door trim) last week. Gonna be my first porsche... going into production in May and hopefully will arrive early July.
