    997 GT3 RS is coming too...this year

    It has been (semi-)officially confirmed:
    the GT3 RS is coming too. Launch is around autumn in Germany. We don't have any official data yet but the GT3 RS is rumored to be lighter than the GT3 (don't expect wonders though) with a bigger rear wing too. PCCB seems to be a standard option, same applies to the "Carrera GT" racing shells (which by the way are very very expensive and don't have the thorax airbags). Rumors also indicate that power is the same or only slightly over the 415 HP in the GT3. The body is rumored to be the widebody of the 997 Turbo/C4 models. The GT3 RS uses the PASM chassis too. Price is rumored to be above the 997 Turbo price tag.

    :O Sounds like an awesome, machine! A bit too "marketed" maybe, but what would you expect? I think I'll ove it anyway... can't wait to see the red GT3 RS sign on the white sides

    My dealer here in Florida (Reeves Porsche of Tampa) confirmed to me that they were told by PCNA that the GT3RS was due and available March, 2007 as a MY 2008. Cost: $126,000USD-wide bodied with plexi windows and street legal.

    Price is more than what I heard ($121k), but not bad if it comes with racing seats and PCCB standard (expensive options). I wonder if that price includes PDK also?

    Well, it is faster than the 997 Turbo with manual. This is valid for the 0-160 kph (100 mph) and 0-200 kph (125 mph) performance only, I don't have any more data yet.

    Are the PCCB the same size as the turbo? Are they ~15 inchers up front or are they ~13.8 inchers like what I see on the GT3?

    Are the PCCB the same size as the turbo? Are they ~15 inchers up front or are they ~13.8 inchers like what I see on the GT3?


    I think they'll be 380mm in front and 350mm in rear like 997TT...

    That photo was taken before I bought and registered the car in Colorado. Builder was from Quebec City and he drove it to me from Canada via Florida. It has Colorado Collector Car plates now...

    RC, I agree. That highlights what a mediocre car the 997TT is.

    Are you still planning to buy it? If I were you (and I think I know a bit of what you like and dislike about cars...) I would cancel the order. You might be happier to wait and to buy some real performance car and not a poor compromise

    better the narrow Gt3 : the price tag is good ,the power its' the same ,fortunally PCCB are optional (who use the car on the tracks understand why) . Only expert drivers can feel the minimal weight difference.
    If the Rs has the Pasm,same power, and it's wide I think i'll go to the "normal" Gt3 .
