    Yes, I know station wagons and SUVs should not be measured in acceleration numbers, but anyway... 

    You don't interfere with the bigger cayenne which is supposed to stay at the top of the food chain...you know PAG, don't you? it is turning into a very stubborn strategy Smiley

    your station wagon is, on top of that, probably heavier than the Macan and surely do not have a fast pdk gearbox like...Smiley

    Turns out the station wagon is 50kg lighter than the Macan GTS Smiley

    It is using the same DL501 Audi S-Tronic 7-speed dual clutch gearbox which is also found in some Audi RS models. I don’t have shift times, but it feels on par with the Porsche PDK.

    It has also got a V8 Smiley

    Anyway, I sort of knew all that since the previous generation Macan was on our family hauler comparison list, but in the end could not match the “executive” station wagon in space nor performance. I am just a bit surprised that not even the latest model in GTS shape is there...

    Agreed. A Macan GTS should at least be at par with a BMW X3/4 M or a GLC 63 (not even S) AMG.

    The only interesting Porsche SUV is the Cayenne Turbo S right now but it is expensive as hell. All the others? Not interested. Smiley

    GTS versions of all the Porsche model lines have never been the fastest, more the most driver focussed. Always seems strange to me that the fastest models aren’t as focussed. Smiley Having said that here in the U.K. anyway all the GTS versions seem to be in higher demand both new and used and hold their value the best as a result.

    GTS versions certainly hold a better value, no doubt but they often also cost more. 

    I actually miss, and I cannot believe I say this, my wife's 991.2(!) Carrera GTS Convertible.  Yes, the one with the bi-turbo. It sounded very nice and it was really a fast car. Nothing spectacular but amazingly well built and reliable, also very nice looking. I miss this car and my wife does too.

    Porsche are still showing 245bhp using engine from Golf GTi Smiley
