    4 hours now. Last night was worse than when you were a kid at Christmas. When to bed at 1100 pm, woke up at 230 am with visions of 997s dancing in my head. Watched some tube, went back to sleep and had several nightmares. Some too bizarre to mention here and others, oddly enough, Porsche related. Dreamed that I had a weird remote key lock thing, and wondered why I had not known about it before (subconsciously, must have wondered why it had not been posted on this forum, as is everything else). Then I dreamed the car drove away to park itself, but when I went to look for it, I couldn't find it. Any psychologists out there? Got to go now, wake up the photographer, and the transportation. I will take some photos, I'll be the one grinning like a mental patient.

    So jealous. Hope it all goes well and the pickup is without incident. Em, don't forget to ask for your free mats, keyring and ask where and when is the track day organised for. Oh yeah, make sure they haven't put "Yokohama Ditch Finders" on all 4 corners!

    O.K. Got the car. Very nice of course. Here's me taking my first look in my 997S. Note my subtle attempt at getting a free Porsche cap. "Look at me, doesn't my Jaguar hat look out of place?!"

    no. I got a free quart of oil...thats it. But, to the dealers credit, I did get 4 percent off MSRP, which is preferable to no discount and a bunch of 'free' stuff. I was very pleased with the dealer, everything delivered on time, no passing off to the guy who talks you into undercoating etc. I would recommend this dealer to anyone in my area.

    Well... I got two qts. of oil plus extra set of black floor mats, colored wheel crests, & clear side markers.

    But paid full MSRP.

    Bought hat when I placed order.

    It's a Beauty! Use it in good health. My wife was with me at delivery. We got 2 hats, 2 pens and a poster. Complain about something minor and hint about the hat. You never know. Thanks for the pics

    Just in case anybody wants to know, 106 mph in sixth with the 4200 rpm limitation. Not as 'exciting' as my VW at that speed (aerodynamics of a toaster and 154,000 on original shocks). The seat adjustment (stock seat) is a great piece of engineering with the jackup, jack down feature. I guess I don't know what I am missing not getting an uprated seat, but by far the best seat my arse has ever sat in...what I don't know won't hurt me. The full leather is a treat too, much better than the leather town and country we have (go figure). Now I'm a veteran owner of a couple of days, I guess I will nit pick a little. The shifter pattern diagram...made of plastic??? Would it have broke the Porsche bank to make it out of aluminium? Still getting used to the car, 10% through the break in period (the 2000 mile one), so I suspect opening up on the other 3000 rpm that is available will be a whole 'new' experience, when I get to it. Love it so far.

    Love your colour choice, but be sure to get clear side-markers as soon as possible. Gotta look the part you know!

    BTW, I got 2 caps (1 blue and 1 red) - neither fit me. So gave one to the wife and one to the girlfriend.
