    911 TT "Generations"

Hope this comes out on poster soon...definetly a great pic to hang up in my office....

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

They all look the same to me.

    Just kidding.

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

Nice.....just curious, can someone overlay the 996TT and the 997TT?

They do look like carbon copies of each other.
Coincidently, so do the bottom two. Whoa, did I just figure out the secret to the turbo success? Have I cracked the Porsche code?

Seriously, if those cars are actual size relative to each other, then you can clearly see how it's grown over the previous generation. But, with more size and more weight, it has increased in power, so, it's balanced out.

From any angle, the 993 version, especially in TTS guise (?1997-8) is still tops.

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

The 996 TT is the beauty of that quartet

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

Nice job . Where did you get these pictures all in the same background? did you use PS?

Can you do the front and back if you have the pix please.

I agree, although I really like the early 930 3.0 for its simplicity. It has the prettiest rear wing by far, but it didn't have enough room for an intercooler in there, so they made the 930 3.3 with the fatter/uglier wing...

I also like the black shark fin ahead of the rear wheels on the 930...

Agree 100%, the 993 always gets me going; although i saw a black 964 today and almost had to go home to change my pants

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

    nice compilation!

    993 is great!

and i can't help it -- 996 looks cleaner and better to me than 997.
this might change, though. i know me.

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

Thanks. Great idea. The thing that really sticks out is the incongruous nature of the 997 TT alloys

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

great picture. doesna nyone know if posteres of all cars can be found at Porsche dealers?

Which is why Porsche has to do something major in the next 5 years to refresh its line-up and lessen its reliance on the 911 bloodline. The performance is phenomenal yet the appearance is not.

Lets hope the panamera is just the start. The 993 tt is a classic design, but i will wait till i see a 997 tt in person before i say it(993) is the best, but the tail is too conservative on the 997. I have been on a few rides with a midnight blue 993 tt and it sounded better than the 996, may have been custom.

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

why not make a difference between the 3.3 and 3.6 (964)?

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

Can anybody help me? Which one is the 930, and which is the other of the first two?
    -Joost-

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

    the first 911 turbo was a 3.0, then a 3.3 came.
    so the first pic is 930 3.0 and the 2nd a 930 3.3.
The 3.3 is also used in the 964 but was afterwards
also replaced by a 3.6 (in combination with speedline rims).

My question is why there isn't a difference between the 2
    965's ?

These images are part of the intro on the Porsche Masterwerks page, if you chose the low bandwidth option.

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

The 1990 model year has to be one of my all time favorires.
    Is that the 964?

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

    Flyer,
Thanks for elaborating me! But what is the 965 then?

May have had something to do with the fact that the 993 was aircooled?

There has not been a 965 production car.

Sometimes the 964 turbo is shortly called "the 965",
I don't know of this is official Porsche language but
we certainly call the 964 turbo, a 965.
With the 965 I'm referring to the 3.3 and the 3.6 version.

I'm pretty sure 965 is the internal model number for a 964 Turbo, just like 951 is the number for 944 Turbo. Correct me if I am wrong.

just checked some websites and it looks like 965 is common used for the 964 turbo...
It's the same as we call a 911 turbo (type 901, not thanks to Peugeot ), a 930.
And the 944 turbo, a 951. (just like 1RAGE said)

You have to differentiate between what might have become "popular" use and the actual model designaton used by the manufacturer.

As far as I am aware, the 964 Turbo was referred to "officially" as the 964T to distinguish it from the standard 911 (964), unless this was also just another "popular" model designation invented outside the factory.

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

I changed it up a little for better use as a desktop wallpaper. It is 1600x1200 so it should scale down correctly for smaller 4:3 resolutions aswell.

    Re: 911 TT "Generations"

One-Rage what do you think of this order? On top 996 left 997 right, middle 964 left 993 right, on the bottom 911 turbo left 930 right. I tried but I coudn't get them aligned right.
