Nurburgring Lap Times
So for instance, does anyone have an "official" lap time for the 320 hp 996 C2 and the 996C4S?

Yes, it was.
But, with -20mm/LSD option time for 997S coupe(PCCB) is 1.14,3min and 997S with -20mm/LSD,PCCB and X51 is even faster- 1.13,7min! These times were achived with normal Michelin tyres.
BTW, these times are by Sport Auto and driver was Horst von Saurma...

Fanch, your car(and mine soon!) is a real blast!
As you know in Sport Auto supertest v.Saurma achived 8.05 on Nordchleife... Not bad time at all but, I feel he could go faster... Sport Auto did not yet test X51(-20mm/LSD,PCCB) car on the Nordschleife. But, I have some very positive rumor(BUT; THIS IS ONLY A RUMOR, even it comes form very good source!) for you-7.59 for X51/-20mm/LSD/PCCB car! With Pirelli Corsa semi-slicks time could be even faster(around 3-4seconds)...

Fanch, I get the same advice as you regarding semi-slicks for tracking... Apparently car has such potential in curves with semi-slicks that engine could be without oil in one side! Too much lateral Gs! Regarding tyres... Your opinion on Pirellis? Will you use Michelins next?
Sorry guys for different subject from original thread...

The Pirelli is ok on wet roads. The Michelin is dangerous on the wet. On the dry, both are of course great, with the Michelin being maybe a bit better.

RC,
Did I read it correctly? The 997S was only .3 seconds faster around the Hockenheim track than a 997?

Out of curiosity, do you know what time the 997S/ powerkit/ PCCB/ sport chassis posted at the Nordschleife?
Thanks.

As far as I heard, the powerkit provides a 2 second advantage on the Nordschleife. Since HvS did 8:05 (as far as I remember) without powerkit, 8:03 with powerkit should be possible.
